Implement a splitscreen option.
The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.
We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar
You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

As my lecture slides are delivered in a pdf format (3 slides to a page) with not much space surrounding the slides to add notes, this split screen feature is what is required to add notes to each slide. I need to be able to both see the information on the slide and the spare notes page to add detail to the slides.
Definitely would be a great additional feature. -

This would be great. As matteo said, maybe only a fast-switch button would be better considering the screen's size. However, sometimes you need to see what is written on a document while writing on an other (for example, if you want to copy an equation or figures). So a less user-friendly technic to do that would be useful too.

This would be amazing, as I could share my students' note books which would allow me to give feedback, automatically upload new content/work, mark assignments etc...it really would be a one stop shop for me as a teacher - would be awsome!!!
PLEASE please please...

I would love to see this, but definitely not something I would use everytime, so an easy way to turn it on and off would be useful so when you want to use it (possibly never or possibly always) enable or disable it, much like the writing area I think, though I think I would want the writing area to be connected to at least one of the open documents/pages.

How about adding a semi-transparent screenshot window(showing selected section of other page ,like the zoom-in writing box,the box may be fixed on the top/hover on screen) for user who want to take note in same document but on different pages?
Usually the imported pdf dont have much space for note taking, that why spliting screen feature (at least dual page viewer within a document) really needed, hope that we can have similar option soon. -

Hello,
it would be great if Good Notes could sync also privte cloud storages.
That could give any company the possibility, to use "Good Notes" in their own work environment without any Google, Dropbox, etc. clouds. -

This would be a great tool. I have used an app on a Samsung tablet that offers this option. Very useful.

I find browsing categories and subcategories, then note books too time consuming.
I'd prefer a faster way of browsing, more like a file browser(finder with splitscreen or explorer) -

As I just read a book, side by side mode is needed for me also.
Sometimes, there is description to see the picture next to the current page. In that case, now i need to visit both pages many times to compare the description and pictures.
Please make this feature... -

I agree with Matteo. Just keep a "bubble" as shortcut to another documents as on Facebook Messenger.

a split-screen feature doesn't sound like a very user-friendly option to me, since 9.7inches is a rather small screen and one of the very strong advantages of GoodNotes is the feature variety while keeping the app as simple as possible to use. My suggestion: kind of a "fast switch"-mode between two or more document where you can create a shortcut to "Document 2" (e.g. movable "bouble": similar to what the facebook app once had with open chats) within "Document 1". That would allow you to switch between two (or more?) documents really fast, while still being able to use the maximum screen size. I hope you guys got what i meant...otherwise: comment ;)

being able to split screen two different notebooks at the same time would be great as well.

I believe iOS should support a feature like this, real multitasking, so chat we can see two different apps running in the screen, I.e. Reading a book and taking notes at the same time. Still this is a good idea when referencing a page within the same or another notebook.

Please add a function where two or more people can have a shared document that reflect the changes each person makes without having to download, upload, or email it back and forth between changes (similar to the way Google Drive works on shared documents). For example, I'm a teacher, so I would like to share a document with a student, have the student annotate the document, go into my app and see the edits made by the student, and then grade the assignment using annotation right on the same document--all without anyone having to upload, download or email.
