  1. graphics tablet functionality

    I am using an XP-pen graphics tablet display on MacOS. The recognition of the stylus is frustrating. It sometimes takes a few strokes to have my input recognized, and other times it works great. Other applications (other than MS Onenote, which brought me to Goodnotes) seem to work fine with the tablet/stylus input.

  2. Section Breaks in Thumbnail View

    There are only two things I’d change about Goodnotes 5, and this is the more prominent of them. I would like to have the ability to add sections to the thumbnail view, just to make it easier to find chapters/sections/topics in my classes. A simple line between the first and the next section with an area to write the name of the section would be more than enough. I have used outlines some but they don’t provide enough oversight in my opinion. I really hope something like this comes to fruition. Just as a side note I’d also like to…

    anki style flashcards with better revision methods, reminders given test date, better UI (sleeker/cleaner), separate page for flashcard decks, revision history and records of progress

  4. Save font size

    When you change your font from 24, it will stay like that until you write in and exit a text box. The font will stay like that until you exit the text box, then it resets to 24. When I want to use font size 12 for all my text boxes, I have to manually click the font size changer and click "-" 12 times every single box. Please, please add this in, it gets tedious.

  5. Additional functions to expand the use of pictures

    It would be nice to add the ability to flip photos (rather than just rotate) and move photos forward or backward.

  8. formula recognition and flying color palette

    Dear Sir or Madam,

    I really enjoy goodnotes, especially to study.
    But there're things that would make it much more enjoyable.
    As an engineering student I write a lot of formulas, so I was wondering how nice it would be, if goodnotes would recognize my written formulas and change them into good-looking formulas.

    The other thing that would be nice, would be a flying or placeable color palette (maybe it flies near to the pencil or to a place where the user puts it)

  9. Have imported Hyperlinks work in all views

    It would be so much faster if the hyperlinks work in all views not just in read only mode. In the planner I created I am constantly going back and forth between views. It would be so nice that when I go into edit mode I could click on a hyperlink tab and go to that section.

    I love Goodnotes. But this is a real flaw.

  10. 工具栏面积太大，浪费屏幕显示区域

    建议缩小工具栏的面积，或者将多行工具栏合并为一行（空间完全够）。在看文档时工具栏占据了太多屏幕空间。

    同时希望可以自定义工具栏位置。

  11. Just add Continuous Scrolling bar in pages also add search text function in images.

    GoodNotes is the excellent app for note taking.Its just above all as compared to all other note taking apps out there in app store.
    Just want to convey a single message to GoodNotes team.
    Please please add scrolling bar function in pages.The slider bar of pages don't work properly.We have to manually turn each pages and that is a too tedious process.Kindly give the option of scrolling of pages using finger or apple pencil.

    Also kindly add search through function in images and pictures which are attached in notes.

  12. Import document auto resize to fit existing template

    Not sure if this is possible, but it would be nice to import a pdf document into an existing note and not have it much larger than the existing pages in the note.

  13. MacBook open in full screen

    Every time I open GN in my MacBook, the app window is small. We should be able to open it in full size each time without having to adjust the size after each opening.

  14. Duplication

    When making diagram I use shapes, I often need to have multiple circles or squares of the same size, since it is inconvenient and hard to draw each one in the exact same size my only option is to copy and then paste them, which is ok but if we can have two in one option (duplicate) the workflow would be faster. Duplication would be great for everything, not just shapes though.

  16. Automatical recognition of texts and pictures so that we can adjust them easily

    It would be so helpful if the app actually recognized pictures and texts automatically, so that we can shift things easily, change the color or size of a text or edit the text in general ( as I want to summarize some texts in my lectures often into sharp and short statements). Also the recognition of photos and direct cutting, swirling, positioning somewhere else...

    ALSO SHARPER HIGHLIGHTERS which just go STRAIGHT AND AUTOMATICALLY RECOGNIZE THE END OF THE WORD. So many times I need to re-highlight, so that the full word is actually highlighted in an organized manner.

    The option inside the eraser itself is good, although it could be better if the eraser does not delete many pixel when it touch one pixel of pen.

  18. Moving to a different folder should remember the last folder

    I use GoodNotes on iPadOS for marking students' work. I normally have the files in a folder "To Mark" and once I mark them I move them to a folder "Marked". I do so by clicking on the name of the document and choosing "Move to a Different Folder" in the menu that opens up. Alas, every time I do this, the file browser starts at the top of the hierarchy. It would very convenient if GoodNotes would default to the previously used folder. It would save me (# students) x 4 clicks!!

  19. PDF pages display setting

    Sometimes when I read and take notes on lecture PowerPoint pdf on GoodNotes, I feel like the pages display are too big (I used an iPad Pro) esp when the content on the slides is not very compact. So I wonder if it’s possible to set how the pdf to be displayed, like for horizontal it can be set to 2x2, 3x2. Or for vertical, it can be set to 2x4, 2x6, or even 3x4 etc instead? To be able to view more pages at a glimpse like the outlines and also able to actually read the content would be…

  20. Overwrite old export when doing new export to Google Drive

    As a teacher, I use GoodNotes as a smart board and do work in class, I upload notes to Google Drive for students to see later. I continually upload notes as certain parts of a document. I would love if at the start I upload the note to Google Drive, and part way through the lesson I export again to Google Drive, that the orginal one in drive is overwritten so that the new one is there for students. This way I don't end up with 3-4 files with the same name and have different things in them and students…
