During my studies i use GoodNotes 5 every day and i love it.
But in some lectures we uses some symbols and characters often. And therefor is my idea.
Is there a possibility to creat an own library for often uses symbols?
That i only have to draw them once and save them in „my own symbols library“?
For example the summation sign (∑), or the drawing of electrical schematics with resistors, capacitors etc.3 votes -
Saving past edits/version
Saving past edits/versions like Google Drive does.
Recently, things I wrote in GoodNotes have randomly disappeared, and they would only sometimes reappear. It's fine if they disappear when I know exactly what I wrote, but if it's something I copied from another part of a document or from another document altogether, and it randomly disappears, then it becomes a problem. A possible solution would be the ability to access past versions (like Google Drive) to retrieve what I copied/cut.

Pen weight
Go from 3 to 5 standard pre-set pen weights. I find the jumps between the 3 weights you offer too big and my perfect weight would be between your thinnest and middle one. I suggest to mimic the 5 pen weights Apple offers in the IOS Notes pen integration.

Quick defeat of iPad auto screen lock
Some apps (such as TimeZero navigation s'ware) have an in-app configuration option that allows the app to keep the iPad screen active, even without user activity. I think GN needs this feature.
I often transcribe from my GoodNotes, with the iPad propped up in front of my desktop computer screen (my hand writing is too rough for auto-text conversion and sometimes I write in a private shorthand).
It's so annoying when the screen keeps going black and I have to wake it up again. And it's a nuisance to have to drop into iPad settings, find Brightness/Display, and defeat the…

Predefined art doodles
It would be great to have predefined art doodles to quickly sketch ideas or presentation slides.

Thumbnails page on computer app showing your current slide
On computer app, when you press the thumbnails page, it doesn't open to your current slide and display that prominently. I have to scroll and look for what slide I was just studying from / annotating. If this could be fixed and displayed more clearly, it would be very helpful.

Create the possibility to create linkable symbols (and build up an automatic index from it)
Let the users select some text and create a linkable symbol attached to the selection. With this, it would be possible to create links to these symbols.
At the first release, an index could be built from all linkable symbols in the notebook.
In a second release, it could be possible to create tags for linkable symbols and create index for specific tags (i.e.: #indexEntry, #sourceReference)3 votes -

The ability to also add pages vertically and horizontally
Let’s say I have a page for each category moving vertically I would like the ability to also add pages to add to that category horizontally. And when I’m looking at the whole thing it’s like tiles.

Pulldown screen
I am using GoodNotes as a teacher to present my lessons. It would be great to have a ‘screen’ that could cover what I have written on a goodnotes page that I could gradually pull down to present the page content as I talk (like smart notes software). Also it would be wonderful if I could I insert live links into my goodnotes page so I can click on it to show a video or math application like Desmos. Are either of these features in the works?

More selection transformations
Scaling and rotating selections are very useful for making diagrams, but reflections and scaling only horizontally (or only vertically) are missing.

Every colour code shows up as #FFEEFF. The correct hex code should be displayed instead

a way to easy create outlines from the colors of your titles or other texts
A way to create outline by using a color recognition that show you all the titles you wrote or fluoted in that color so that you just have to click to make an outline of it

Worktable
Please consider the option of a bigger (indefinite?) surface under the working sheet - onto which elements/drawings/ scetches can be moved out for later use or rearrangement.
Right now when you move something out and its partly outside the paper and not connected - you won’t get it back in.3 votes
