Dear Goodnotes Team,

I would like to suggest an enhancement to Goodnotes for Android that I believe could be particularly valuable for professional users: official support for large-screen foldable smartphones, such as the new HONOR Magic V6 and similar devices.

I am a long-standing Goodnotes user and use the platform extensively in my professional clinical practice. I have a very large Goodnotes library containing clinical records accumulated over many years, and Goodnotes has become an important part of my daily workflow.

I am currently considering the HONOR Magic V6 as a secondary professional device. Although technically classified as a smartphone, when unfolded it provides an approximately 8-inch internal display, together with stylus support, sophisticated multitasking capabilities and hardware performance comparable to high-end Android tablets.

This creates an interesting situation: the device is technically very well suited to running Goodnotes, particularly when unfolded, but Goodnotes for Android is currently restricted to tablets and is not officially available for Android smartphones.

I believe it would be worthwhile for Goodnotes to reconsider this distinction for the new generation of foldable devices.

Rather than supporting only a specific model, Goodnotes could potentially introduce a category of supported large-screen Android foldables, based on criteria such as internal screen size, Android version, RAM and stylus capability.

For professional users, this could provide a particularly useful workflow:

• Carry a foldable smartphone rather than an additional tablet
• Unfold the device when Goodnotes is required and work on a tablet-sized interface
• Access a large Goodnotes Cloud library without needing to store the entire library locally
• Use a stylus for handwritten notes and annotations
• Take advantage of the foldable device’s multitasking capabilities to use Goodnotes alongside other professional applications

In my own case, this would allow me to access clinical documentation while travelling and working between different locations, without needing to carry an iPad simply to access my Goodnotes library.

I appreciate that supporting foldable phones may require interface validation and optimisation. However, devices such as the HONOR Magic V6, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series and other upcoming large-screen foldables increasingly blur the distinction between a smartphone and a small tablet.

As Goodnotes already has an Android application, I believe official support for this category of devices could be a very useful extension of the platform, particularly for professional and business users.

I would be very interested to know whether support for large-screen Android foldable smartphones is already being considered on the Goodnotes product roadmap.
