Doesn't work at all for me
I tried the Windows Beta today. Hit the download link and installed from the Windows Store. Was unpleasantly surprised to find that it's just an Edge-based web app. I prefer Chrome over edge but continued anyway. It changed my default browser to Edge without my permission. It took many tries to sign into my existing Microsoft account. I finally got a Goodnotes window but all that was displayed was a pulsating GN icon. I never got a UI at all.

Technically, if you want to use Chrome, you can. Just type web.goodnotes.com in a Chromium-based browser (like Chrome or Edge). That doesn't excuse the fact that it's just a web-based browser app.
I'm very disappointed that this is the direction they would go. Hopefully it's just a stopgap for them to be able to quickly test and roll out new functionality without having to push an app through the Windows Store approval process. If they leave it like this and don't give us a standalone app, I'll continue to use OneNote.
