    Even if no Table tool is provided; the ability to lock an underlying object from erasure (layer?) would help greatly. I could hand-draw a table and easily erase content within the ''cell" without worrying about erasing the cell borders.

    This "lockability" would prove handy for other in-drawn objects as well;for instance: watermarks.

    Like a hand-drawn table for data entry! Erase the contents without the erasing the lines.
