  2. Partial Erase

    Make it so the eraser only erases a tiny portion similar to how Notability now has partial erase. It would make it so I can do more intricate art in the app itself.

    GoodNotes has this feature since several years. You can disable “erase entire stroke” in the eraser settings by double-tapping on the eraser icon in the toolbar. By default, it is set to partial erasing.

  3. Webpage import

    There is no way to import a webpage. Such feature is in Notability and that is very convenient. For now I have to export webpage to pdf, save the file, open goodnotes, find import button, locate the file... terrible experience

  4. Highlighter: Rectangular Shape not possible

    • Hard to draw a straight line with the Highlighter (Draw in Straight Line activated)
    • Can't draw any rectangular or square boxes with the highlighter anymore

    We’re happy to announce that the update 5.6.0 that we released today adds an improved shape recognition including the option to hold at the end of a line to make a perfect shape, shape selection & editing, and curve drawing. It further improves the recognition of circles and squares and adds back the ability to draw shapes with the highlighter.

  6. Rearrange Multiple Pages

    Currently I can only rearrange one page at a time.
    If I want 5 pages to be moved up or down in page order, I have to rearrange one by one.

  7. Universal search (across documents, folders, pages within pages)

    Good Notes needs a universal search option, so that from the main screen, we can search for note titles, folder names, page bookmark and text (typed or written with OCR). Otherwise, it is nearly impossible to find notes back.

  8. macOS sidecar with iOS + pencil pointers

    using sidecar to draw in the macOS version from iPad. I notice it uses the default pointer all the time. I wonder if it could be change to something more meaningful eg when drawing use a dot.

  10. Dark mode

    I would love an added dark mode option. Having darker greys and blacks could make the app look so much cleaner.

    Dark Mode is now supported in GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS and iOS 13. You can enable system-wide Dark Mode in the control center and GoodNotes’ design will switch to Dark Mode. We also added a set of dark paper templates that you can use when creating new documents, adding new pages, or changing existing templates. Please note that paper colors won’t be automatically changed when activating Dark Mode because backgrounds are static.

  11. GoodNotes 5 for Mac in Hong Kong?

    Will GoodNotes 5 for Mac be available in HK? It's so sad not to be able to sync my iPad with my Macbook. :(

  13. Add option to highlighter: draw only horizontal lines

    The highlighter already has the option to draw only straight lines, but would love the additional (!) option, when working in texts, to make it automatically put the straightend lines in a horizontal position.

    It works exactly the same way as for paper templates. In the Notebook Templates button, tap on the preview for the covers to switch to the cover section and import your templates there.

  15. Please bring back the macOS App... 😀

    GoodNotes is a boombastic App, but when I‘m at home and do my office work I use my iMac Pro and it would be nearly perfect when all my Notes/Docs/PDFs and synced at every of my devices.

    ... and it would be great to import pictures directly „as an own site“

  16. Forms with highlighters

    We need to be able to draw forms with the highlighter on GoodNotes 5 like it was possible with GoodNotes 4.

  17. Edit documents side by side

    I often am annotating pdfs. ppt etc. from another open medbook or rubric. It would be insanely convenient to be able to view the two documents side by side rather than flip back and forth. I understand concept of opening another app but that would be a view only. I may take screenshots from a text using goodnotes but I still have to flip back to the other document to add it to my the other notes. I guess it would be like apple's split view but working within the app.

  18. Returning an option to turn off the blue rectangle in zooming mode

    If it’s possible in the new version to bring back turning off blue rectangular in auto advance mode while zooming. Maybe it’s possible in the 5th version, but I still can’t find how

  19. Text option for GoodNotes 5 on Mac

    Provide option for a text box with formatting capabilities in Goodnotes 5 for Mac. Plus allow option for shape recognition (as on iOS app) which allows you to draw straight line, circle etc

  20. disassociated pen styles for bascia pen and tool shapes

    When I'm taking notes, I prefer fountain pan to write but ball pen to draw shapes. It would be great if the pen style of writing pen could be disassociated from shape tools.
