Hyperlinks between pages and different docs
I would like to create a system of hyperlinks that allows students to navigate between interconnected documents. For instance, when a specific topic is discussed in one document and is also addressed in another file located in a different folder, the user could simply click on a link and be taken directly to the relevant document.
This would avoid the need to manually search through multiple files each time. The user would be able to access related materials immediately and then return to the main document or page they were studying from.
Such a system would save time and support…

Vorrei consigliare di inserire la possibilitá di aprire un file su due pagine, come un libro. Sarebbe molto utile per sostituire il libro.

Text Tool Doesn't Stay Active
After finishing one text box, the app automatically switches back to the Lasso tool instead of keeping the Text tool selected. Users who create many small text annotations have to repeatedly reselect the Text tool, significantly increasing the number of interactions required. The user would like the previous behavior where the Text tool remained active until another tool was manually selected.
1 voteHello,
Thank you so much for sharing your suggestion!
We're happy to let you know that you can now Pin Text Tool, so you don't have to repeatedly reselect it when creating multiple text boxes. To enable this, select the Text tool from the toolbar, then tap the pin icon on the right to keep it active.

Feature Request: Split-Screen View for Better Multitasking
I am writing to strongly request the addition of a split-screen view feature. As I work with increasingly large amounts of data, this feature has become essential for my workflow. Many other note-taking apps offer this as a standard feature, and it is becoming a deciding factor for me to consider switching to another platform.
I know many other users share the same need for this functionality. I truly hope the team considers prioritizing this update in the near future, as it would significantly enhance the user experience.2 votesHello,

[Colours] Bulk recolour all handwriting in a selected colour
Like a lot of people, I prefer to write my notes on a black background which then makes it difficult to print. I use different colours in a single sentence to group specific concepts together, which is lost if I replace all the colour. At the moment, there are two solutions: invert the entire page, which makes the other colours funky, or use the lasso to select individual colours.
My proposal is to allow you to select all text, drawings etc done in a single colour and bulk recolour it to a new colour. This would let you preserve other…

Bring Back the Previous Typing Feature
I would like to share some feedback about a recent change in the app. There used to be a specific typing section for entering the words, and it worked really well. It was much more practical and easier to use.
Now, with the text boxes, the experience has become a bit more difficult. The text boxes often appear misaligned and don’t work as smoothly as the previous format, which makes the gameplay less comfortable.
If possible, I would really appreciate it if you could consider bringing back the previous typing format or improving the current system so it becomes more…
2 votesThanks so much for sharing your feedback — we really appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your experience.
If it helps, you can still use Full Screen Typing, which provides a more focused typing experience similar to what you described. It allows you to type more comfortably without being constrained by the text box layout.
You can find out how to enable and use it in this Help Center article.

edit
hi, i have one suggestion for editing
when writings and draws with apple pencil are selected by lasso tool, it shows up some editable options. but there're no options to edit the size and color and stroke setting. if i want to change that, i must delete them and rewrite. so i strongly suggest that those features gonna work more effectively.1 voteHi! Thanks so much for sharing your suggestion — we really appreciate the feedback.
Good news is that this feature actually already exists in Goodnotes. When you select handwriting with the Lasso Tool, you can change properties like color and resizing items using the editing options that appear after selection.

Dual-Page PDF View
Dear Goodnotes Team,
I am a dedicated Goodnotes user, and the app has become essential to my daily studies. I am currently preparing for the Judicial Scrivener (Shiho Shoshi) exam and would like to suggest a feature that would significantly improve my workflow.
Dual-Page Display for PDFs
When reading extensive legal texts and Ito Juku course materials, being able to view two pages side-by-side is crucial. It helps maintain context, compare clauses, and cross-reference information efficiently.
Adding a dual-page view for PDFs would greatly enhance reading and annotation, especially for users working with dense academic or legal materials.
Thank you…
1 voteHi! Thanks for your suggestion!
You can already view two PDFs side-by-side in Goodnotes by using iPadOS multiple windows. This lets you open two pages of the same document (or two different documents) in Split View.

Dual-document view / split-screen inside the app
Right now, GoodNotes doesn’t allow opening two documents side by side within the same app window.
• You wish it worked like FreeNote S, where you can view and interact with two notes or PDFs at the same time. This is useful for comparing notes, referencing one document while writing on another, or dragging content between them without constantly switching tabs.2 votesHi! Thanks for your suggestion!

Request for dual page view in landscape mode.
Hello,
I’d like to suggest a feature that would really help when studying.
It would be great if we could view two pages side by side in landscape mode, like an open book. When working with PDFs or textbooks, I often need to look at a problem and its solution at the same time, or compare a question with its answer choices. Right now, switching back and forth between pages breaks the flow.
Even having this option only in landscape mode would make a big difference.
Thank you for your time and consideration.1 voteHi! Thanks for your suggestion!

Table of Contents
Hello GoodNotes Team,
I love using GoodNotes for my medical study workflow.
I would like to request a Table of Contents, Sub-contents navigation feature for PDFs.This would make navigating large textbooks much easier, especially for students and professionals working with multiple long medical PDFs.
Thank you for considering this feature and for continually improving the app!
1 voteHello,
The option to create navigation within files already exists—you can find it in the Outlines section of the sidebar.
Let us know if this is what you’re looking for!

outiline sort by page number defaultly
Please add an option to sort the Outline/Table of Contents by page number by default. Right now, outline items often appear in the order they were created or imported, which makes long documents hard to navigate. A default “Sort by page number” setting (ideally per-document, with a global default in Settings) would improve usability and reduce manual reordering. If users prefer custom order, they should still be able to switch back to manual sorting.
1 voteHello, thanks for sharing the idea!
The option to sort the outline by page number just went live in the recent iOS release (version 7.0.22).
To enable it, tap the top-left icon in the Outlines sidebar and select Sort by page number.
Please note that switching to this option will remove any custom ordering.
You can read more details about outlines here.

BRING BACK THE AUTOMATIC FULL-PAGE TEXT BOX
Ever since they have removed the automatic full-page text box, it has ruined note taking as a whole. It is such an inconvenience to use text boxes, as it is harder to manage and just overall too much to use. I would like to bring back the automatic full-page text boxes as it made note taking more convenient, efficient, and easier to manage.
1 voteHello,
Full-page typing is available for text boxes.
To enable full-page typing within a notebook, select the Text Tool > long-press on the page > choose Start Typing.
If you’d prefer a dedicated full-typing experience, you can also try Text Documents, a file type designed specifically for typing.

[Outline] Custom order
allow for custom outline order, current outline is in order outline is added (not in page order), allow to for choice of how to order outline titles (alphabetical, page #, date added, etc). also after closing app, view options for seeing/not seeing for example pdf outlines resets-- make choice semi-permanent or until you manually change and select or unselect an option again.
42 votesHello, thanks for sharing the idea!
Currently, there are 2 options for ordering sub-items in the outline: manual ordering and sorting by page number.
1) For custom ordering, simply drag and drop items to a new position between other items.
2) The option to sort the outline by page number just went live in the recent iOS release (version 7.0.22). To enable it, tap the top-left icon in the Outlines sidebar and select Sort by page number. Please note that switching to this option will remove any custom ordering.

Rotating items using lasso
I found this feature very helpful with my creative designs in previous versions of the app. I have long loved Goodnotes and am disappointed that I can no longer easily use this feature. While using lasso you can see that I can adjusted the size but there is no longer the option to rotate the selected shape.
2 votes[Rotate Shapes using Lasso is now live 🎉]
Hello,
Thank you so much for sharing your suggestion! We’re excited to let you know that rotation support for shapes is now live in version 7.0.50.
You can now use the Lasso tool to select items like shapes and sticky notes, and rotate them freely — including rotating multiple items at once.
We’d love to hear your thoughts — feel free to share your feedback and let us know how the feature works for you!
