Add tagging of documents and locations within documents
It would be a great deal, if it would be possible to tag all documents and (possibly) each position within each note with one or more tags. There should be a tag list for each shelf of notes, such that I can have different sets of tags for each shelf. It should then be possible to open the tag list for a shelf, click on a tag, and get a list of all usages of this tag with all documents and all locations within documents. Clicking on a usage should open the document (in case it is the tag of a whole document) or the document at the tagged position (if the tag is attached at a location within the document). The list of usages should be sorted according to the document names, and if there are more usages within a document, according to the page number. It should also be possible to jump from a tagged position within a note to the list of usages, and then to another usage, and so on.
To tag a note or a location within a note, one should be presented a list of available tags within this shelf. Then, one can select one or more tags, and possible also add one or more tags, which then can also be selected.
It would be ideal, if this approach was combined with folders (and subfolders ...) within each shelf, as is proposed in another feature request. One speciality of this request is, that these folders should be kept separately from shelves, in order that different tag groups can be maintained, one tag group for each shelf.
This feature, would make a great application, as GoodNotes already is, much more valuable. It would make GootNotes also a great knowledge management tool - with only little implementation effort. Looking forward for this feature being added! :-)

+1 for page tags (multiple per page)

Totally agree - link to notebooks and pages via a tag - great idea!

It would be great, if one could simply include a #hashtag in a note.
e.g. This is my #shoppinglist for #monday
GoodNotes should automatically extract all hashtags and show them in an overview. When selecting a identified hashtag, GoodNotes should automatically show all Notes sharing the same hashtag.

It is mandatory when you have hundreds of bloc notes and you are looking for a specific document.

This could work exactly like the bookmark feature and could nest in a tab right next to it (where thumnails, bookmarks and pdf table of contents are). "Plus" assigns new keyword to current page. The "tags"- tab should show a list of tags asigned to current page and an overall list of tags used in current notebook

Tagging would be a terrific feature to add. It is essential that tags will be then visible on the macbook.

TagNotate provides exactly this feature.

Implementation of this idea would bring a huge benefit. I have different books for different purposes (team meetings, client meetings, etc). In every book I have cross information (like team members, client names, project names, products etc). If I could tag pages or even sections of a page and could do a global search ..... awesome!!!!

Tags would be a phenomenal addition to Goodnotes. I've been tinkering around with the recently released Workflow App. It would open up endless possibilities for workflow improvement if Goodnotes and Workflow contained support for one another. Keep up the great work! Goodnotes it's my favorite App!

Tagging would be a great feature! There's no good tagging in any of the annotation apps and it's really important for organizing documents. Killer app like this needs killer tagging!

If I could use a variation of the highlighter tool to assign a searchable tag that would awesome. Thanks I use this app every day.

Tagging has become an essential search feature. Being able to tag pages would make good notes more functional.

I really like the idea of tags. I would love to see some of of filter associated with it as well. So I would no longer need to keep going back to a notebook and adding pages. I really just want a list of documents that I can filter and search for tags on. I think it would be less cumbersome to start a new note, if it was sort of independent from everything else. The going up and down a tree in and out of categories and/or categories is just not working for me. But bookmarks are definitely inadequate for what I am talking about.

I agree. This is the one feature that's missing that is preventing me from buying the app. I'm amazed its not here already as its one of the core things in my opinion - something that makes this far more powerful than pen and paper

We now have bookmarks, which is a step in the right direction. Two things which would get us even closer:
1) make the typed text searchable, so I can use it to tag pages or items on pages.
2) implement hyperlinks to pages or bookmarks in notebooksWith hyperlinks, I could use iThoughts to creat mind maps, linking branches to my GoodNotes. That would be so useful!

Having the ability to add one or more tags to each page would be highly useful. This would make find notes related to a topic very easy when those notes are spread out over many different days worth of notes.
Needs to be filterable so that you can see a list of only pages with that tag assigned.

It would be sufficient only to be able to tag locations within document. Tagging on top of the first page could then be used as tags for the whole document. This could simlify the implementation.

If you have a lot of files is very difficult to find one of them.it would be a good idea to have a search option

This is an excellent idea and a must have for those of us that have already written large numbers of pages and notebooks.
