Ruler and compass
Good notes should include a ruler and compass. Especially for engineering students like me.

I'm still waiting! This would be great. Basically a must if I want to use this for engineering purposes. Would be nice if I could do this on my iPad.

Some more Math tools for example Triangle ruler (there is no app coming up with that), dotted lines, Circles with center,...

this would be great to be able to write straight on paper without the grid. and for egr classes

A ruler would be great for both engineers and dyslexic people!
Using a ruler under the text line you are reading helps keep the letters in place. -

Ruler for angle measures and improved scale sense. Please :)

Ruler with the ability to measure angels and distances. Would be so important for the Math lessons.

Because the pandemic, most of the student and the teacher are using distance learning tools for class. GoodNotes is a great app. But when it comes to STEM, lack of a ruler really makes it really hard to use. I know I can use Squared paper template for most of the two dimensional diagram drawing but when it comes to three dimensional coordinates, ruler is necessary!!!!!! And we really need that!!!
just make a similar one like the ruler of iOS notes app. How hard is that? I know it is probably marketing department handles these request, but go ask the engineers , and you will understand how hard it is to sketch diagram without a ruler! -

please dont ignore this suggestion too i have seen atleast 5 to 6 suggestoins with atleast 50-60 votes each asking for this feature

Must add! Especially drawing graph!!

the most important thing is that this feature will give you edge over other competing apps.If this is a big ask for both ipad and mac, first just implement for ipad

Hallo liebes GoodNotes Team,
Da ich eure App täglich im Einsatz habe und hauptsächlich Mathe unterrichte wäre für den Geometrie Unterricht ein Geodreieck (Winkelmessen) und ein Lineal super!
Macht weiter so ihr erleichtert vieles!

Please add all the tools necessary for precise draving of geometric shapes for math (Ruler with measurments in cm and inches etc.)

Meanwhile we are waiting for Goodnotes to make this happen, you can copy paste an image of a ruler from the internet. It won’t be accurate as a real life ruler since the measurements of that ruler is probably not right, but you can make the angles etc of a line right. Example: you have to draw a line against another line that has an angle of 60 degrees( a cirkel has 360 degrees ). You can draw that line through an image of that ruler in the shape of a triangle and after you drew that line, remove the image of that ruler.

Really need a ruler, for cal II classes we need a ruler and protractor, we can’t draw some thing like the attachment by the shape tool. Also something like photoshop which can drag a subline from the scale.

Ruler is essential for the next update

To use the app as a full blackboard replacement in school we need rulers or a grid or an option to draw horizontal or vertical lines only. Control points for straight lines as available in OneNote would be more convenient the drawing a line cut her out with the lasso then paste her and have then the possibility to turn her or adjust the size but with no ability to snap on existing objects.
In my lessons in engineering classes I often have to show how to get some data out of diagrams and graphs with rulers. The only workaround for doing this is using the highlightertool with the straightline option. But the because of the poor contrast of its colors and the restrictions in adjusting its thickness it is only a bad replacement a bright thin and straight penline.
Please make GoodNotes an app suited for technical sketches for physics, engineering, mathematics or even tables and graphs in a x-y-grid.
Competitors like zoomnotes or geogebra are showing how that could be realized. -

I use your app for my classes all the time. it only lacks a ruler for teaching maths.
