"Favorites pens" as tools
Im using green thin and navy thick pen.
and need to change very quickly.
but everytime I have to select color and pen size.
that would be awesome configurable favorite pens on top of bar for one click select the pensize+color

I would love for this to be in Goodnotes!!! It is so critical to my workflow. I feel so constrained by having only 3 presets for sizes and so many options for colours when I only use a few of them for each document. I would love to have pen presets, especially if they were customizable for each document!

To me this is THE feature that is missing. It is common to use a limited set of Pen settings in a doc. It is usually a hand full.
I am using around 5-6 settings per document, mixing pen type, line width and color.I would indeed LOVE to be able to manage those presets and be able to add those as easy to reach shortcuts.
Each change is otherwise painful as you need to change:
- pen type
- line width
- colorwrite a few words, and switch back again.
The color can be fixed after the fact but not the rest and it kills the experience having to do that.
As a first step, I would be fine being able to use the "last used" presets, automatically detected.

I will completely switch to goodnotes from notability if I have the ability to put my own color Pens and tools in a "favorites" bar. How has this not been a feature since ages??

It would be great if these "Favorite pens" could (based on user's preference) completely replace the current thickness & color toolbar.
For exactly the reasons mentioned in the description of this feature request - often I use few color & stroke combinations repeatedly (I tend to assign meaning to them). Using the current toolbar is then very cumbersome, and I'm often "tempted " to go back to using paper, where I have many different pens at my hand reach.Perhaps the selection of favorite pens could also be saved per document. I tend to use different sets of pens in different docs.

It's a good idea! Being able to quickly configure my own favorite pen with just one click I find saves a lot of time. Try consulting content management applications or software to configure the pen effectively. I will also try to learn how to apply it to my https://slope-3d.com/.

I changed to another app (pdf expert) just because of this feature. If it ever comes up, I might change back to GoodNotes since the price is lower.

YES. This is a MUST. We wouldn’t need more than 3 colours and thicknesses in the toolbar, if we just had a “favourite pens” bar.
You could use the same “scroll through” functionality that the mini image insert bar uses - just with a symbolic depiction of pen type (including highlighter and eraser), colour and size (look at Notes Plus for that)
It would also be convenient if this bar was collapsible into a small movable icon that snaps to the the window sides and the top of the zoom window. (Look at Notability and Noteshelf for that) -

6 years and still not a thing. Notability has implemented this and it’s a way better workflow. It really slows me down having to pick the pen type, thickness, and colour every time I need to change. It would also be helpful to have an easier switch function between eraser types.
Having the favourites bar in Notability that can be positioned all around the page is way more practical.

That's correct! The function keys, commonly known as F keys, are located at the top row of a keyboard and are labeled from F1 to F12. These keys serve as shortcuts to perform various functions depending on the context in which they are used to check the https://www.softwareglimpse.com/best-crm-for-musicians/

haha it has been so many years I asked for this feature...I don't think they even read the uservoice. I'm happy with Noteshelf since 2011. My tip: try it. Also there not everything is perfect but the ignorance of Gootnotes is remarkable.

PLEASE PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE WORK ON ADDING THIS FEATURE! THIS WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL & ESSENTIAL FOR STUDENTS ESPECIALLY AND ANYONE WHO USES GOODNOTES OFTEN. A FEATURE THAT IS A HEART ICON WITHIN THE DROP BAR OF THE PEN THAT ALLOWS US TO HAVE AT LEAST TOP 4 OR FAVORITE PEN SETTINGS.
MUCH THANKS!

It is 2022, and this feature is still the most anticipated. C’mon GoodNotes, this is the only reason that keeps me from leaving notability for good.

Yes - I was thinking of exactly this feature request this morning. It’s repetitive and unnecessary to have to switch between pens and click “pen type”, then “color”, then “open width”. Would rather have a set I can define then pick between easily.

Noteability does this and it's a great feature. It's difficult to standardise pen colours and line widths without favourites. This feature being absent is a real deal breaker. Also being able to change colours and pen widths afterwards is something that notability does, you need to catch up it's only these features that put you behind the competition notability and noteshelf. Add these and you'll blow the others it of the water!
