  1. History/Spaced Repetition Notes/Tape/Layers

    1. A history of all notes opened. This should have a duration limit. Say if someone spends 10 minutes reading or revising a note it should go into history. Or let each history entry be deletable.
    2. Calendar view of which notes were opened on what dates and what time.
    3. Ability to schedule entire notes or pages of notes into a spaced repetition system.
    4. Ability to rate how well you know the notes.
    5. Noteful introduced tape feature to hide parts of notes similar to cloze feature of Anki. They have Layers as well. Goodnotes should introduce these features

  2. Move comments to the outer margins of docs.

    Currently, when you write a comment of a doc it blocks the whole screen when you open it. When I add a comment to a doc it would be helpful to have it to the side where it doesn’t obstruct the whole page and I can read the comment while also looking at my document. I think utilizing the gray area around a doc would be a great place for this.

  3. More specific erase options (by tool types)

    Please change the current erase options system (Erase highlighter/tape only), into this sort of mechanism;

    Eraser Style

    (Precision/Standard/Stroke...)

    I had experienced situations so much in which I wanted to erase only pen traces, and perhaps along with other types of traces.
    In one instance, I was using tapes to make my own fill-in-the-blank questions. However, I couldn't dare to write any letter with a pen because you can't just erase them without removing the tapes along, and it is really frustrating.

  5. CJIS

    I work for a local government entity and I have several investigators that purchased goodnotes to use for their investigations. Due to this product not being a CJIS approved (certified app) they are not allowed to install and use the application on their departmental ipads. Is there any plans to get your product CJIS approved.

  6. Flashcard editing: allow use of the "zoom while writing" and "ruler" tool.

    As it was available in the previous GoodNotes version! I can NOT write neatly without the zoom tool. Why was this feature taken away? :( Also a ruler tool was introduced, but it is not available for flashcards… Again – WHY?
    I had perfected GoodNotes flashcards, now they are completely useless to me. :X

  8. Increasing hightliter size

    Currently, the maximum thickness of the highlighter is 7.7mm, but please increase it to 10mm.
    Even if I draw a highlighter on the 15pt letter written on the A4 paper size, it is inconvenient because the font is not completely covered at the moment.

  10. Open document management

    As a teacher I often have a lot of open documents, that are currently needed for the different classes I teach. When opening more than 4 or 5 files it gets difficult to distinguish between them without having to go back into folders.

    The following features would help here:
    - a dropdown menu to choose the file I need
    - the ability to group document tabs
    - colored document tabs similar to the new folder colors
    - a visual overview option to see small versions of all open documents, similar to the overview of open GoodNotes instances for split view…

    I like to build on my flashcards in chronological order and I wish there was an undo button because I have accidentally swiped right before I read it.

  14. Tree Expansion

    I work a lot with PDF-files (most DIN-A4 / Textbooks etc.)
    It would be great to have a horizontal expansion option (if you´re on vertical scroll)
    For an A4 vertical baseplate one could do a vertical expansion with a DIN-A page of another size. (also would not have to be DIN Normed could just be any page)

    It would be great for taking notes or adding additional information in textbooks.

    If one would work through a text book it would be easy to just select all the expansion pages and copy them into a separate Notebook. Particularly for summaries.

  15. Make it easier to work from a Laptop

    Fix bugs to make easier to type and work in the document with a laptop. For me the document is ALWAYS bugging (even after restarting everything), this includes: jumping a lot when scrolling, typing is very delayed and start to lag, adding pictures or even just going into "picture settings" takes very long due to lagging. I really love working with goodnotes and with the IPad everything always works perfectly! However, bugs in the macOS app makes it very hard. Thank you!

  16. Switch between edit and read-only mode with keystroke or pencil tap

    Please add keyboard shortcut and pencil tap options to switch between edit and read-only. I use my iPad a lot with a keyboard or macro pad, and having a shortcut would make the experience so much better.

  18. Make it compatible with MacOS 15.0.1

    When I try to install Goodnotes 6 from the AppStore on MacOS 15.0.1, it fails with the message "Macos 13.3 or later is required". From my point of view, 15 is newer than 13. You may have to extend the compatibility to current versions of MacOS.

    Fix the known issue of the same typed notes doesn’t look the same in Goodnotes on iPadOS and MacOS. I need this fixed as I type a lot on both my iPad and Mac, especially I use the bulleted list. Seems like a font rendering issue.

  20. Customise side bar tools

    I would like to be able to customise the tools that pop up when i squeeze my Apple Pencil, so that i can switch more quickly between those i need.
    For example, I might want just pen, highlighter and lasso tool.
