Use Google Drive to sync notes with GoodNotes Mac
Currently, the newly released GoodNotes Mac app is great but it only allows me to sync notes via iCloud sync. I’m a student so I tend to use Google Drive to sync most of my notes as most college students receive unlimited storage in Google Drive as opposed to iCloud. Is it possible to sync the Mac app to the notes that’s already synced to my Google drive?

1 voteThanks for bringing this to our attention. It is a general issue with the iPad and the Apple Pencil that is not only affecting GoodNotes but other apps as well. The Apple Pencil sometimes has connection issues while the iPad is charging.

Please solve the family sharing error.
I was using a family sharing function. But all of a sudden, 'I can't be shared' appears on my iPad and doesn't get in the app. Please solve this problem. There were a lot of important documents in the application and there was no backup. My iPad software is the latest version. I want you to tell me why this happened. And I hope I can back up.

I purchased GoodNots on my iPad unfortunately I can not download it on my Mac without paying for it again.
If I buy the product once I should be able to use it on all my deices.

Option of zooming out to show more than two pages
I use my iPad on landscape (horizontal) mode most of the time, and when I go through multi-page file on GoodNote 5, I want to have an option to zoom out more than the app currently supports.
When I go through a document with landscape layout, the app will limit zoom out to always fit the top/bottom edges.
I want to be able to view two pages at once by zooming out, (scrolling direction set as vertical).Please give us a freedom to zoom out!

Improve the sensitivity of swapping between pen and eraser in GoodNotes 5.
I’m using the 2nd gen. Apple Pencil. When I double tap to changes from pen to eraser it’s always delayed. Please improve this because in GoodNotes 4 is better

Scrolling with finger when Apple Pencil is not Used
Could you please allow one finger scrolling while Apple Pencil is not used? Or could you auto deselect every tool if user just want to browse the document?
I am facing issue where when I am scrolling with one finger (natural intuitive behaviour) when reading my notes, GoodNotes 5 recognise as a annotating as the pen tool is selected. I don't have an option to deselect the tool.
Could we also have the tool bar to be hide when annotating to allow more screen for writing?
And, could we have an option to close all tabs? the current version will…1 voteFor now, the finger will remain the primary input method when not using an Apple Pencil. Please swipe to the next page using two fingers when not using the Apple Pencil. You can also enable Read-Only Mode which will allow you swiping with one finger.
Please disable “Always open as new tab” in Menu > Settings > Document Editing.

free mac desktop app for existing customers
It feels counterintuitive to make current customers pay for the same app on mac especially when many people are commenting on the poor quality of the new Goodnotes mac build. If someone purchases the iOS version, they should automatically get access to the mac version as well and vise versa! Many other apps already do this, so Goodnotes is being left in the dust on a potentially awesome feature.

Sadly, Apple doesn’t support offering app bundles across stores and since the mac and the iPad App Store are two different stores, developers have to create two different apps. While the Mac app inherited a lot from GoodNotes on iPad, we’re supporting and developing it independently from the iPad app too, and decided to make the Mac app a paid app as well.

10 New Features Needed
I use Goodnotes every day, and here are my suggestions:
- PENCIL TOOL for a more organic feeling while writing.
- FLOATING TOOLBAR or at least a left side option for the tools.
- RULER TOOL for a more organic and intuitive workflow.
- FILL TOOL so I can fill my drawings and shapes.
- BOOK STYLE with two pages per view in landscape mode.
- LINES OR DOTTED GRID (not a dotted paper, but a visualization mode)
- PEN SIZE bigger to make fill areas easier while drawing
- CREATE HYPERLINK on certain words/shapes to other pages or websites.
- AUTO DESELECT for Lasso Tool
- VOICE NOTE

It would be really helpful for us if you could add your votes/comments to existing ideas. If they don’t yet exist, please submit one idea for each suggestion, as other people can vote on it. The number of people supporting a specific idea is an important factor that we use to decide what to build.

add line thickness variation for crayon
as you know, crayon doesn't support pressure sensitivity. Thus, all lines in goodnotes have the same width. this doesn't feel right to me.

Tap screen with Apple Pencil to open GoodNotes
The new iPad pro (2019) allows you to open Notes by tapping the Apple Pencil to the locked screen. I would love to see an option that to toggle this function to GoodNotes instead of Apple Notes by tapping the pencil to the screen.

Non-Backed up folder
I have a full iCloud. I have lots of old notes that I can archive off but I would much prefer to have them in a non-icloud folder so that they are there for reference.
As far as I can see iCloud is only on or off.
I suggest a non-backed up area so we can keep all our working documents backed up and then if we want 10GB + of old stuff (backed up in other ways) its not a problem.1 voteSadly, iCloud doesn’t support selective synchronisation. There’s nothing we can do about that at the moment.

downloading problem
Hello！I am a GoodNotes loyal user from Guangzhou,China. I want to report some BUGs to you.
I personally use GoodNotes4(GoodNotes5 upgrade version).It happens more and more now that the icons show that files are downloading and i can’t open them when I need them urgently(picture below). I don’t know the reason why they are keep downloading files when I do not do anything. Since I use GoodNotes on my iPad which don’t have Cellular network, I find this bug really annoying. Add hyperlinked slide on a digital planner that I alredy started to use in goodnote
Want to be able to add new keynote slides with hyperlinks into an alredy exported pdf digital planner in goodnote, that I already have started to take notes in. Why? cause I realized that I forgot some importent pages. I tried to add one but unfortunately the links does not work on that slide.

It would be great if you could send it to support@goodnotes.com instead as we try to keep this forum for feature requests and ideas only. iOS 13 is still in beta, and a lot of features may not be working as expected, which is not necessarily a problem of GoodNotes itself but could be related to iOS. We haven’t yet optimized the app for iOS13, so for a bug-free experience, we recommend using official iOS releases.

1 voteGoodNotes 5 is not yet fully optimized for iPadOS. The beta release seems to be one of the most buggy betas Apple released in recent years and we recommend downgrading to iOS 12 in the meantime. We’re working on optimizing the app for the new experience but currently don’t plan to fix any bugs on the OS beta, as this is unfortunately always a risk when using beta versions. We’re aiming to release a fully optimized version around the time of the official iPadOS release in Fall.
