Issues to Address
1) No “Recently used templates” when adding a page
Issue: When adding a page, GoodNotes doesn’t show recently used templates—it mainly suggests templates “most like the previous page.”
Why it’s annoying: Adding pages becomes slower and repetitive if you rotate between the same few templates.
Request: Add a “Recently used templates” row (and ideally let users pin a few templates there).2) Favorites are too hidden
Issue: Favorite pages aren’t quick to access.
Why it’s annoying: Favoriting loses its purpose if it still takes extra taps to find the pages you marked as important.

Add a Goodnotes Wrapped. Like Spotify Wrapped.
You could replicated what Spotify does for their music. This would consist of how many notes taken, what percentage of note takers your in, how long you spend studying compared to other people, favorite tools, most used document, and ect.

Multiple ideas
Tapes to hide content - right now if the app crashes or refreshes, the tapes you’ve taken off to quiz yourself reset and hide the content again
- suggestion- A button to manually reset the tapes that way you know what content to revisit rather than losing all your progress
Index words on pictures- right now if you screenshot a document and upload it into good notes, the words on the picture aren’t searchable

History/Spaced Repetition Notes/Tape/Layers
- A history of all notes opened. This should have a duration limit. Say if someone spends 10 minutes reading or revising a note it should go into history. Or let each history entry be deletable.
- Calendar view of which notes were opened on what dates and what time.
- Ability to schedule entire notes or pages of notes into a spaced repetition system.
- Ability to rate how well you know the notes.
- Noteful introduced tape feature to hide parts of notes similar to cloze feature of Anki. They have Layers as well. Goodnotes should introduce these features

- allow bulleted items to have multiple different horizontal start locations
- "tab" key on keyboard asks like indent button
- select / highlight bulleted items, click tab key or indent button --> goodnotes indents selected lines (instead of deleting them)

Various ideas from solution pen, to OneNote synchronization, to manually trigger synchronization, to fix text on Post-it and Notion connecti
It would be cool if there is a solution pen that is only displayed when you switch to a solution mode, because for example you have a whole list full of sentences that you have to learn the answer to, and so you can just query it yourself, (the flashcards are handy, but with whole pages full of questions it gets too much). Example. You write down the questions with the normal pen, and then switch to the answer pen, with which you write down the answer.

improvements i’d like to see in good notes
- audio recordings that sync to the handwriting (fundamental)
- the possibility to use light or dark mode independently from the system
- have only one color palette for both pens and highlighters
- the dropper tool to add colors to the palette

Import a (Microsoft) Word file properly
Now, when importing a word file it isn’t imported properly and everything is shifted, some things are missing and it just doesn‘t work. We‘d like, that it works as good as importing pdf files! Because that’s just awesome!
2 votesThanks for the suggestion. Unfortuantely, sometimes the format of Word documents can’t be read by our PDF converter correctly. In cases like this, please save the Word document to PDF first and then import it with GoodNotes.

No delay while using sidecar with Mac and iPad

I use my iPad as the second display of my mac so I can be on zoom on my laptop and take notes on my iPad by typing on my laptop - this is easier than typing on my iPad. This really makes it convenient for me as a student. However, one thing I noticed is that there is a HUGE delay between my action and reaction. Basically, when I scroll on my mouse, it takes 1-2 secs…

Scrolling lags initially, then jumps or goes too far
I would like if the scrolling feature using my finger to slide the pages up (I use vertical) would be more smooth and consistent. It is so frustrating when my first swipe is ignored, then the next one is slow and it seems like it does not respond consistently. I just want a smooth scroll when going through my lecture slides and taking notes quickly.

Bug Report, wrong pdf order
I really love working with GoodNotes, especially when I mark my eBooks and PDFs.
Those have often a length of more than 200 pages.
Sadly, it often happens that (even though the order is correct in the „miniature-view“) some pages appear in a different order.
The problem can be fixed with a reset of the app but it’s very annoying I have to say.1 voteThis seems to be a bug that we need to investigate. Refresh button for use across multiple devices
Most of the time, synchronicity across multiple devices is quite quick, however I've begun to notice it sometimes takes a while or I've had to restart the app. I am a university student and I use goodnotes on my macbook and ipad pro, which is great because I can screenshot things on my macbook and write notes on them on my ipad (almost) straight away.

It should sync automatically every 15-30 seconds and it also depends on the size of the data that needs to be synced as well as external factors like your internet speed. Great delay in reaction to finger movement
Whenever you want to zoom in or out or even scroll up or down, the app reacts with a large latency - with some updates it was improved but at the moment it is sadly worse. Like that its definitely not fun to use, near impossible to work with to be honest. Would love if that matter could be looked into. - Love the app otherwise!
