Own jpgs as cover page
Dear GoodNotes I would like to use my own jpgs as cover page for new notebooks.

Alternatively, just add the jpeg as the first page of the notebook and it will be the cover thumbnail.

Hold down on pen to activate lines
Similar to apps such as notability, please add the feature to hold down on the pen to activate straight lines. This is a lot easier than having to switch tools every time we need to draw a simple underline or fraction bar.

Smaller file sizes
Good notes 5 is the superior handwriting app on the app store but the only problem personally is that the dimensions are to big, a 17 page document can occupied approx 250 MB while a PDF of around 300 pages displays only a size of 100 MB approx. These feature is critical for most student that only have the 32 GB iPad version and don't have enough money to upgrade to an iPad pro or air with more storage.

For existing documents that appear to be too large, please export them as GoodNotes documents and reimport them. After reimporting them, they should be much smaller. Enable removal of imported bookmarks from PDF structure
When we import a PDF that has a built-in outline structure, that structure is added to our notebooks as outline items. But they cannot be edited, and if you delete pages, the outline items remain.
1 voteIn the latest version of GoodNotes 5, you can filter the Outlines tab to exclude PDF outlines. This doesn’t technically delete them but they don’t block your custom outline structure.

Highlight in dark themed / mode
In order for a highlighter to be seen in dark mode or using a dark themed paper is if you use the ‘Shape Tool’ fill in function. I don’t want to circle or box specific words or sentences in order to highlight. Please adjust code as this should be a quick add since it somewhat works already but not the way it should.

Customizable Floating Quick tools bar
A floating tool bar at the bottom left or right of the screen that we can choose any tool color or option toggle switch to it.
This tool bar can either hide or show using the same gesture as pulling the dock out.

Shared notebooks with other users, please!
I'm a teacher, and Covid had shown us that distance learning and the ability to collaborate online is fundamental right now.

Move tool
Please make an easier way to select individual objects without having to use the lasso tool. If I place a photo too close to my text box and then need to move the image, I can't just click it and move it without trying to lasso it first which always results in accidentally grabbing the text too. Having a move or mouse tool would be amazing when it comes to adjusting notes.

Subscription Model
I use GoodNotes everyday. I love it. I love that it continues to improve and get new features. I would support a subscription model to ensure I can continue to use and rely on GoodNotes being there.

Combine shape and pen tool
Integrate the ability to draw straight lines and circles into the regular pen tool. It takes time to constantly have to switch between the shape tool and the pen. It would make writing and taking notes more intuitive, creating seamless transitions.

Real Support Would Be Nice
I have been a Goodnotes user for many years. I have a problem with Goodnotes for Mac. I cannot find where there is any support for your product: no telephone, no email, no chat, no nothing. There should be support. If it exists, it should be easier to find. My problem, for what it is worth, is that Goodnotes for Mac constantly prompts me to upgrade to the lastest version of the software while telling me that there is a syncing problem. I have the lastest versions. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software repeatedly. Nothing works to resolve this…

Have tabs to separate notebooks into sections
It would be helpful to divide a notebook into sections with tabs. For example, if I’m setting up a cookbook, I’d like to have one Notebook called “Recipes”, with tabs for Beef, Poultry, Vegetables, Breads, Cakes, Pies, Cookies, etc.

When lost, deep into a tree of folders, simply tap the Documents button to return to the home Documents folder.

Shape Tool toggle
I much prefered it when we could toggle the shape tool on and off(goodnotes 4), rather than having a shape tool that only really works with the pen tool and not the highlighter tool. The highlighter shape recognition is missing, why? You can draw a straight line with the highlighter, but if you want to do anything more complex like geometry it does not work.

Brighter Highlighters for black paper
The highlighter options on black paper are very grim and don’t show up as bright as pen colors do. True highlighter colors showing up on black paper would be an awesome addition I feel, and hopefully not too difficult a feature to implement!

Re-Auto Backup
Back then in GN4, Auto backups used to check for Changes and update the latest change to the destination folder. I always keep the destination folder up to date that there’s no duplicate files with different name (because I change their name and they’re both kept in the folder) or other problems like the duplicated file that I deleted one of them but they’re both kept and etc. So I always change the destination folder to restart auto backup process so that all the files in that folder look exactly the same with my current document in GN at the…
1 voteYou can restart the auto-backup by disabling it in the settings, then tap done and exit the menu. Then enable it again.

Google Drive Sync is gone or is it just me that cant find the option?

Hoping to improve the bad writing experience

The updates in recent months make the difference between pen and ballpoint pen very small, and the change of stroke thickness is not obvious, and there is no pen edge, which makes the characters look ugly. Extend existing straight lines
Pretty self explanatory. I draw graphs alot and often I have to increase the dimensions. I wish I could use the shape tool and just extend or add onto the length of one of my axis lines.
