Welcome to the Goodnotes idea-sharing space!
This space is dedicated to users on Android, Windows and Web. If you’re using Goodnotes on Apple, please visit this link.

Tips to make your suggestion visible and bring your idea to life:

  • Search existing threads. Your idea might already be under discussion. If so, feel free to add your input or vote on it. More votes = more visibility.
  • Create a new thread if it’s new. If your suggestion is unique, start a new thread. Write a short, clear headline that quickly conveys your main idea, and include context and details in the description.
  • Separate multiple ideas. If you have several suggestions, split them into individual topics so we can review (and others can vote on) each one more effectively.
Please note that we do not offer technical support on this page. To report bugs or get help, please contact our Customer Support.

  1. For some reason when I am drawing a decimal point, it will just disappear and I will still get haptic like I am drawing if I don't lift off, but won't it won't be drawing anything. It happens about 50% of the time when I try to make a very small circle indicating a decimal point.

  2. Please try to release newer versions with new features little faster and regularly. Also try to make the window app little early as the web app lags a bit sometimes when the content on the notebook increases

  3. when we write a word continuously without lifting the touch pen the letters start to shrink after 6-7 letters and it becomes hard to write and if i write the same word with lifting the tip of pen even once, the letters doesn't shrink and i can write properly. I think you have a feature of auto-space between words and this is happening due to this feature. Im not 100% sure but im telling you what i experienced or felt while writing.

  4. as I use a graphic pad when I zoom to write I need to use the second hand on the pc pad to move the paper and write where i want. It needs more coordination than i have. It would be nicer to have a overview tool as in one note

  6. The back and forth buttons please either left or right. The distance to the buttons is too far for a right-handed person.

  7. I would love if the column within notebooks that has the pages listed/previewed could be collapsible. In portrait orientation, this gets in the way of the actual page displayed, and makes it harder to work in the left-hand most part of the page.

  8. When I try to dot my i's or try to write colons (:) the dots are hit or miss on their thickness or whether they even register. I'm using a Surface Pen (No Clip) with an ASUS Zenbook 14 Flip on Windows 10. Not sure if this is a fixable issue, and it's not awful, but this is feedback, after all!

  11. That button is in the context of: Page Editing > PAge sidebar > Page Menu > Button "Erase Page"

    The current translation is: ลบหน้า
which is repeated with the another translation of button "delete page" exists in the same location as the "erase page" button

    The fixed translation is "ล้างหน้า"

  12. The two-finger swipe gesture used for page navigation frequently triggers the pinch-to-zoom function unintentionally. This is a recurring source of friction — the app zooms in mid-navigation, requiring the user to manually reset the zoom level before continuing.

Request: Introduce a Zoom Lock toggle that disables pinch-to-zoom when activated. This should be accessible quickly — either from the toolbar or a floating button — so users can enable it during long note-taking or reading sessions where zoom is not needed. When Zoom Lock is on, two-finger gestures should be interpreted exclusively as page-turn inputs, not zoom triggers.

  13. On Android, navigating between pages in a long document currently requires a two-finger swipe gesture. Across documents of 30–50+ pages, this becomes physically fatiguing and interrupts the writing/reading flow.

Request: Add persistent on-screen buttons (next page / previous page) that allow single-tap navigation between pages. These should remain visible at all times during document view, without requiring the toolbar to be active. An optional toggle to show/hide them in Settings would also be useful for users who don't want the UI clutter.

English is not my first language. Sorry for spelling or grammar mistakes. My mother tounge is german.

  15. For the people who uses pen tablets and doesn't directly write on the screen, the crosshair icon for the pen or pencil is really difficult to use. It should be made as an option for the user to choose which type and size of curser icon do they want like a simple mouse curser or a pen icon etc.

  18. I would like to request basic image editing tools in Text Files.
Currently, when pasting images, there is no way to modify them (for example, crop or adjust them) directly inside the document as it works on iOS.

Having the same functionality on Windows and Web would greatly improve the workflow.

  19. I would like to request the ability to export audio recordings on Windows.
Currently, it is possible to record audio in Goodnotes, but there is no way to export these recordings outside the app on these platforms.
This is a limitation, especially for students who rely on lecture recordings for studying and review.

  20. I would like to report an issue with spell check in Text Files.

Currently, spell check does not work reliably: words are often incorrectly highlighted, suggestions are missing or inconsistent, and, in some environments (e.g. Chrome), spell check and extensions do not work at all.
This makes it difficult to catch spelling mistakes while taking notes.
This issue may be related to the current WebView-based editor.
