[Open multiple documents in tabs is live on Android and Windows 🎉]
Hello,
Thank you so much for sharing your suggestions and voting for that idea! We’re excited to share that opening multiple documents in tabs is now live on Android tablets and the Windows app.
You can now switch seamlessly between multiple documents using tabs—without losing your place.
Any new document you open will appear as a tab, while your previously opened documents stay open in the background at the exact location where you left off, making it easy to jump right back in.
Currently, this feature is available for an unlimited number of Notebooks and Whiteboards. For Text Documents, it’s limited to one active document for now—but this will be resolved soon.
How to enable Tabs
- Go to the Library
- Tap Settings (top-right corner)
- Go to Settings, then Preferences
- Open Document Settings
- Enable Open documents as Tabs
Feel free to share your feedback and let us know how the feature works for you!

The page floats a bit after I scroll with my finger. It should stay where my finger left it.
Also I agree with the following suggestions:
1. Spen better support (latency and side button for eraser)
2. Note Tabs (allow for multiple notebook tabs to be open at once to easily toggle between them)
3. Make or allow to make page zoom presets (like if I like it at 125 percent zoom I don't have to spend time to adjust it just right)
4. More page types (graph paper or just the ability to customize my own page type)
5. Pen box maybe -

Being able to have two documents open in Goodnotes might be the relevant factor for me to decide for goodnotes rather than inkodo.
I use a 400 page long script. When I switch to another document in goodnotes to take a few notes and go back to my 400 page script, Goodnotes does not save the exact location in the script where I was working. Then I have to scroll through the pages to find the relevant section again. This sucks

Splitting the screen in two is very useful for using GoodNotes for teaching. I really would like to have it on Windows.

ont know if its only for me but the option to write while in portrait is locked and I can only scroll. I think the most optimal way to write is portrait and when that ability is locked its a real dealbreaker

Pls add a feature in which when we put some other window with goodnotes then also we can write instead of directly jumping to read mode and inability to write

Currently, if I snap a Goodnotes window to one side of my Surface Pro 8 screen and another window to the other side, Goodnotes doesn't allow me to mark my pages. As someone who does homework in split screen, this makes the app unusable.

Currently the beta allows me to use my laptop in landscape mode, but if I turn my foldable laptop from landscape to portrait, it turns off the ability to write in Goodnotes.

when I open goodnotes in side by side window it automatically shifts to read mode and Iam not able to write anything on the page

I like to work with the splitscreen on my Surface. But GoodNote doesn't allow the use of splitscreen. So I can't take notes while looking at a document for example or watch a video on the other half of the screen. Would be a huge improvement if splitscreen-use was possible

In portrait format (win 11 hp spectre) the settings for stylus, eraser, etc. are not visible. In landscape format everything works.

In order to edit or write, you need to be in full screen with the Goodnotes app. This is very inconvenient for taking notes off of another document/app. It would be useful to be able to edit your notes in split screen mode so that you don't have to switch between apps every time you want to write something down.

When I send my GoodNotes to my VEIKK display tablet it tells me that the display is "too small" and revokes editing privileges. This effectively makes this app useless to anyone who has this kind of tablet.

when the window is small, it will be not available to write, only swiping the page.
it is not convenient to split screen when wreading and writing
