Dear Goodnotes Team,
My name is Praphul P, and I am from India. I am currently building an online educational platform that will launch in the next two months. During my research, I found Goodnotes to be the most powerful and suitable tool for conducting classes, mainly because of its smooth writing experience and excellent web interface.
However, after the recent update, the interface—especially the new toolbar design—has become difficult to work with. Many of the tools and buttons are now positioned inside the canvas area, which was not the case earlier. This creates a major issue for educators like me who use Goodnotes Web along with OBS Studio to capture only the writing area of the canvas during online classes.
With the tools overlaying the canvas, it becomes harder to record clean and distraction-free visuals for students.
I truly appreciate the improvements and features Goodnotes brings, and I am very eager to use it as the core writing tool in my platform. Therefore, I kindly request your team to consider:
Restoring a cleaner, separate toolbar, or
Providing an option to hide or reposition the toolbar outside the canvas,
Or adding a “presentation mode” specifically for teaching and screen recording.
Such a change would greatly improve usability for teachers and content creators who rely on Goodnotes for online education.
Thank you for your time and for continuously developing such a wonderful application. I hope you will take this feedback into consideration.
Warm regards,
Praphul P
