I felt stuck after the update too, so I ended up flipping a few settings that softened the blow a bit, like tweaking the toolbar layout and turning off the new gestures. It’s not the same as the old setup, but it made things less clunky for me. I also sent a support ticket asking for a toggle to switch back, and the more people poke them about it, the better our odds.

I’ve been craving something like this too, mostly so I don’t end up double booking myself like a goof. Even a basic way to pull calendar events into a template or sidebar would save me a ton of flipping between apps. If Goodnotes ever adds write-to-calendar support, that would be the cherry on top. Right now I’m stuck with copy and paste, which feels pretty clunky.

I keep catching myself flipping between Goodnotes and a calc app, which feels like juggling with one hand tied. A tiny pop up calculator or a side panel would smooth things out a lot, especially for quick scratch math. Even a simple keypad with history would cover most cases for me. Handwriting recognition for calculations could be the cherry on top if they ever go that route.
