I completely agree. The Shapes tool was already useful, so making it harder to create and edit shapes feels like a step backward. Hopefully they listen to the feedback and improve it in a future update. I’ve had similar frustrations with software updates changing features that were already working well, so I’ve started keeping my own useful resources and notes backed up too.
I really like this idea, especially the universal color part. Having to save the same color separately for the pen, pencil, highlighter, text, etc. makes the palette feel more like a tool-specific setting than an actual color library.
The palette groups would be a great addition too. Something like “Notes,” “Study,” “Pastels,” or “My Real Pens” would make frequently used colors much easier to find. Procreate’s approach of keeping palettes organized and accessible across the color interface is a good example of how useful this can be.
Ideally, I’d love to see one master color library where adding a color once makes it available to every tool, with optional folders/groups for organization. That would make switching between tools much less repetitive.
