Stop the lag with the Apple Pencil 1
It has been starting for a week now and I keep getting to fed up trying to make a circle or a "C". Please fix this issue ASAP.

Tap and Hold to Zoom
To be able to tap the screen and hold so that the zoom window opens with whatever you are pointing at.
This would be particularly useful if you're using Goodnotes to fill out a form then you would be able to go directly to the field you wanted to write in instead of having to open the zoom window and then having to slide the document back to the part of the page you were looking at.

Fix back bracket [] for shape tool
Before the update for the shape tool, it was easy to draw brackets, now it take 2-3 try each time to try to draw them...

Bug fixes for the cursor with Apple MagicKeyboard
Always when using Goodnotes 5 on my Ipad with my Apple Magic Keyboard and its new „cursor“ feature, the app lags and i can‘t seem to move my cursor around and it works perfectly on all other apps.

With the new update that was added there is increased lag while taking notes.
It would be helpful if this is fixed ASAP as this takes away form the note taking experience.

Please fix severe performance issues
with the most recent update, GoodNotes has become completely unusable. It starts up and shows some not about reorganizing the data to improve performance for over a minute. After that, it is still unusably slow. Changing to a folder takes up to 20 seconds. Opening the overview of of a large file about the same time. Productive work has become almost impossible.
Importing a new 900k File takes over a minute.
Also, replication with the cloud has become even more unreliable. Replicating a 900k file takes several minutes with now way for the user to actually influence or prioritize replications.…

Merge with notability.
They have many features yall lack and vice versa. Together y’all would be unstoppable.

It would be great if you could look through the forum and add your votes to the features that have already been suggested. If you don’t find a specific feature you’re missing, please add it yourself as it will give others the option to vote and comment on your submission.

scroll
It seems that GoodNotes has recently changed something with scroll on the iPad version. Now, whenever I swipe up/down quickly, it moves so quickly that I end up not knowing which page I'm on. Please change it back to the old scrolling speed.

Shortcut Bug
When I open the app over the shortcuts app to directly open a document, the app works fine. But when I want to close the document with the X button, the app crashes every time. iPad with iPadOS 14.0.1.

Lag input and frequent jumps
Although there is a standing issue where the eraser will be lag, it was not particularly bothering me so I was fine. This was till the latest update where I had issues with writing as well. My input would not register and appeared as a shape (line) a few seconds later. Additionally, goodnotes would also abruptly jump me to many pages above or below which took me time to scroll back to my original position. Super disruptive.
I really like goodnotes and I prefer it over notability when it comes to taking my university lecture notes. So would appreciate if…

Use System-wide color picker in iOS 14
iOS 14 introduced a new system-wide color picker (similar to macOS) that allows you to save colors to use across apps and includes an eye dropper tool. This standard color picker should replace the custom one currently used in GoodNotes.

Can Goodnote 5 be supported by older version of mac os such as 10.13?
I cannot upgrade my work mac due to a program I have to use for my work. But I still would like to use GoodNotes on my work computer so that I can just sync my notes on the iPad and my work mac, but it appears GoodNote5 does not support mac os 10.13. Can I get GoodNotes 4 anywhere or can you somehow make it possible for GoodNotes 5 to support the older version of mac OS?
1 voteWe’re sorry to inform you that GoodNotes for Mac is built using a technology that requires macOS 10.15 or higher. There is no way to make it available for older operating systems, unless Apple supports it too.

Please add Adonit Pixel to Goodnotes 5
I just bought an Adonit Pixel Stylus and Goodnotes 5. Unfortunately the Stylus only works for Goodnotes 4. It'll be great do get a free redownload of Goodnotes 4, so I could use the Stylus.

1 voteThanks for your suggestion. We won’t likely do this anytime soon as we’re using iPadOS’ built-in splitscreen capabilities. Unless Apple changes what’s possible, we can’t really influence it.

Battery drain
To address the battery drain issue maybe you could implement a feature in which the software transforms strokes into vectors just every 10 seconds or so instead of doing it instantly. Or maybe an option in which one can deactivate vectoring on pdf files, where in my opinion it is not really necessary. This problem is huge! 15-20 % drain in 1 hour of use is unacceptable. Despite preferring GoodNotes, this is the reason I really am considering Switching to Notability.

Goodnotes for macOS 10.13
My mac cannot upgrade for macOS 10.15 so, I'd like to have goodnotes app version that is suitable for me to update my notes across between my iPad and my mac.
2 votesSadly, the technology we’re using to develop the Mac app, called “Mac Catalyst”, is not compatible with macOS versions below 10.15. We currently don’t have any plans of changing that.
