  1. calculations. I often have the need to point to somewhere on the screen. Now I have to use the markup tool to do that, but I always have to undo before going on.

The best solution would be to show the cursor when hovering over the screen, but as far as I understand that is not possible with the Apple pencil.

Next best would be to have a " pointer" tool to point things out.

This could be some kind of tool that's quickly accessible in the toolbar.

Or maybe would be possible to use your finger as a pointer?…

GoodNotes 5.2 is now available as an update on the App Store, including the new presentation mode. The new laser pointer now has two styles: dot & trail. Trail will create a laser “trail” that disappears after 1 second making it the perfect “pointer” device.

  2. fonts installed on iPad via profile should be displayed. AnyFont app can be used to install fonts (http://www.anyfont-app.com). competitor Notebooks shows all fonts.

  3. GoodNotes is the most useful app for me as a University Student.
However, there is this one thing that constantly makes me want to grab another app or Paper&Pen again. It is GoodNotes' appearance before entering a notebook.
The way notebooks look and are organised is simply uninspiring, boring and extremely unhandy!
This one very thing keeps dragging me over to Noteshelf. I like everything about GoodNotes more. But the refreshing look of noteshelf is a deal breaker for me.
I would be extremely happy if there is any chance of you working on the apps' design.

  4. It would be nice to have up, down, forward, backward keys, forward delete, and possibly other conveniences, on the keyboard when in text mode. NotesPlus has this already.

  5. I purchased the Mac App long before the IOS app. When i purchased the MAC app, I found little to no use for it. However, more recently, I got the apple pencil and saw SO many incredible reviews. So, I got the IOS app and was blown away. It is truly incredible. I notice that the updates are very frequent for the IOS app and takes care of any issues a user might be experiencing immediately. What I also noticed was that the MAC version of the very same app has not been updated since the end of July. Its…

  6. I love that I can search my handwritten notes! The rub is that sometimes something I'm searching for, spans multiple notebooks. It would be wonderful to be able to search all of the netbooks for the currently selected category!

  9. Unfortunately my handwirting is so bad, that the OCR results are not always perfect.

It would be great, if it would be possible to change the OCR results within the convert to text window (with the ipad Keyboard). Before exporting or copying the results.

  10. Google Drive authentication no longer works - cannot sync to Google Drive any longer. Please fix! I've seamlessly synced to Google Drive until this week (May 6, 2017).

Error 403 OAuth authorization request denied. Only web-browsers now allowed to make authorization requests, but there should be work arounds. Please update GoodNotes so that I can continue to use with my Google Drive files.

  11. A page counter would be fine. As of now the only way to know where exactly you are on a document is to open the thumbnail feature. If the page number were displayed (maybe as an in/out option) it would save us a good deal of time.

The latest update GoodNotes 5.5 is now available on the App Store. While scrolling through your document, you can now see the current page number and the total number of pages in this document. If you don’t like to see the page numbers, you can disable it in Menu > Settings > Document Editing.

  12. I would suggest to show the previous page of the same notebook when using the iPad in Landscape mode. In this case you can use the app like a normal notepad where you can read what you wrote on the previous page.

We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).

With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.

How to open a new window:

You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:

    - the app icon from the dock
    - documents from the library
    - folders from the library

  13. For those who want to customize their notebooks by adding stickers this is a very easy way to get nice stickers. Simply by downloading from app store any keyboard sticker app that you want, then insert a text box at goodnotes, switch the keyboard which belongs to the sticker app and finally copy or paste any sticker you want. I use chatsticker. Good luck

  14. I often need to go back and forth between multiple documents. Can we have three or four such open documents at once, possibly selecting them from icons on a toolbar, etc?

  15. I often want to use my GoodNotes documents (as PDFs or Images) in many different locations.

It would be great if I could just open GoodNotes on Mac and simply drag and drop the pages (or selected pages) I’m interested in to the Finder and let it export that way. That would make for a very efficient workflow.

  16. Using the Apple pencil is really cool, but I find that undoing and redoing is really annoying using the toolbar at the top. Having a feature like in Procreate to undo with a 2 finder tap and redo with a 3 finger tap would make taking notes much more fluid.

  18. The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.
