1. Locking Picture into place, pen features & more.

   I would love to add a new feature to photos added to Goodnotes, which is Locking them into place because many times when I write on and around the pictures it's accidentally triggered by palm touch and moves which ruins my writing.
   Another important feature i would like to add or modify is when i draw using my pen different shapes as a curve and then hold it becomes a rigid structure and doesn't register my curve as a curve so it completely changes it which is disappointing to be honest and it could be easily fixed with an update.
   It would be cool to add some extra features as graphs, PowerPoint templates & export as a ppt. file ready for presentations.
   Last and not least, recently the app has been glitchy on my M2 ipad pro 12.9 inch especially when i zoom into file i get locked into the zoom and only way to get out of it is to close the app and in many instances restart my device, which doesn't happen on other apps.

   Finally I would like to thank Goodnotes for their consistent efforts on creating better experiences for their users.

4. Lecture notes with annotation space

   The biggest issue I have found for taking notes in lecture with Goodnotes is that when I am given a powerpoint to follow along with I tend to make annotations and notes side-by-side the slides. But I get distracted very easily when I quickly run out of space, either forcing me to add a new notebook page and have it after the slide.

   But then I am constantly flipping back and forth trying to reference the images. The only way that I am able to take the slides and add extra notes is to individually add each picture to a notebook page that gives me extra space. But when your professor posts over 200+ slides it can make it time consuming to complete this.

   However if there was an option to add in multiple images at a time to individual notebook pages it would get rid of a lot of the formatting problems. The only other app I have seen take this into account is Microsoft, but the feature is limited to microsoft programs such as one note or powerpoint, but when you try to export the blank slides into Goodnotes, the note taking feature that gives you extra space for notes disappears as it is a feature limited to only microsoft. I don't enjoy using one note or powerpoint because I already have a system for taking notes on Goodnotes. But then I spend hours creating the notebooks alone.

   If there was a template created that recognizes the format of the presentation slides, such as a word document or a powerpoint and automatically applies it to the slides it would not only eliminate the need for programs like microsoft that has a monopoly on this type of format. But draw more students needing that extra space for annotations into using goodnotes for their lectures.

   Below I have attatched some ideas for the templates, which includes options for portrait and landscape notebooks mixed with the use of powerpoint or word documents. There may be an option for placement of the boxes depending on the user is left or right handed so that their hand is not covering the slides while they annotate documents.

   I am surprised that this feature has not been implemented as it would maximize the efficiency of taking notes through goodnotes.

7. Precise Text Highlighting with Apple Pencil

   Another feature that would enhance daily use is the ability to highlight text by selecting it directly with the Apple Pencil. Currently, manual highlighting can be imprecise; it would be great if the app could automatically recognize and highlight the selected portion of text accurately.

8. Feature Request – Can We Get Toggleable Layers for Handwritten Notes?

   Hi Goodnotes team & community,

   I’m a longtime user and really love the flexibility of handwriting in the app. One feature I keep wishing for—especially when working on complex study notes or sketching diagrams—is the ability to create and toggle between layers, similar to how it's done in drawing apps like Procreate.

   Specifically, I’d love to:

   Create multiple handwriting layers within a single page

   Hide/show layers to focus on different content (e.g. lecture notes vs. personal annotations)

   Reorder or lock layers to prevent accidental edits

   Is anything like this currently in development or being considered? Would love to hear if others would find this useful too!

10. a new DRM solution for distributing digital textbooks

    Some prep schools adopt DRM-based digital textbook distribution solutions to prevent illegal copy by their students. However, those solutions provide viewer software with limited annotation functions. It is not sufficient at all for most difficult certification exams such as bar exam where students often take large amount of complicated notes on textbooks. A DRM-based content (typically in PDF format) distribution solution with Goodnotes would be an ideal alternative for such schools.

11. Bearbeitbare Tabellen

    Derzeit ist die Arbeit mit Tabellen sehr umständlich. Es wäre sinnvoll, die Funktion direkt in Goodnotes verfügbar zu machen. Tabellen sind ein wesentlicher Bestandteil des Alltags, beispielsweise zur Auswertung von Aktionen, da Informationen mit einer Tabelle schnell und übersichtlich erfasst werden können. Darüber hinaus wäre eine Anpassung der Tabellen, ähnlich wie in Excel oder Pages, äußerst sinnvoll, um beim Erstellen von Tabellen möglichst flexibel zu sein.

    Your free plan for schools is an amazing tool for educational institutions,although i think it could be added a free plan for students aswell. Students face significant learning demands, and it's hard to balance educational expenses with living necessities. By offering a free plan tailored for students, you would help us to leverage these tools with less financial barriers.
    While a student-focused free plan might have certain limitations and verifications compared to your full offerings, the benefits for students and the potential long-term user growth are considerable.
    Thank you for considering this proposal. I belive that making the goodnotes app more accessible to students would be a mutually beneficial endeavour.

14. ENCOURAGE USER ENTERPRISE

    On Goodnotes, you can select formats to purchase or add to your collection for free.

    I know Goodnotes makes money off it and its a valid way to as the app is good, affordable for users and is focused on constantly evolving.

    SUGGESTION:

    • A lot of creative individuals use Goodnotes (myself NOT included).

    • These users have good formats etc and may sell them on other sites like etsy etc

    • it would be good if YOU the goodnotes app allowed users to sell their designs in the goodnotes app shop.

    it would be a win win situation because:
    -> goodnote could take a % of each sale while also giving the creator some money from the sale.

    this would encourage creativity and would be fun for goodnotes! maybe having a creator sector or having a ranking for most used formats? or organising notebook templates based on whether they were created by the goodnotes team, then the top ranked ones from the community

17. AUTOMATIC PAGE ADDITION for CUT or COPY & PASTE of TEXT

    Suggestion: When pasting text, if it’s short and fits on one page, it should stay there. But if it’s too long, a new page should be automatically added, allowing the rest of the text to continue without manual adjustments. This feature would make note-taking and preparation much easier, especially for students and professionals.

    Solution Idea: Implement automatic page overflow handling for pasted text to create a smoother, hands-free user experience.

    Goodnotes for Teams is a great start, but it could be even better with stronger collaboration and management features. Please consider adding:
    Real-time collaboration (multiple users editing the same notebook simultaneously)
    Advanced permission controls (view/edit roles, shared folders, access expiration)
    Centralized admin dashboard for managing users, licenses, and shared content
    Cloud integration options (OneDrive, Google Workspace, Space Waves SharePoint) for easier file syncing and backup
    These improvements would make Goodnotes much more powerful and efficient for enterprise and education teams.

20. Improve Collaboration and Workflow Integration

    Goodnotes for Teams could be even better with stronger real-time collaboration features. For example, allowing multiple team members to edit and annotate the same document simultaneously, similar to Google Docs or Notion, would greatly enhance productivity.
    It would also be helpful to have better integration with common workplace tools like Microsoft Teams, Slack, or Notion, so teams can share notes or updates seamlessly. Finally, adding role-based permissions and version control would make it more practical for enterprise-level workflows.
