We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view

That would be so much easier for me, I have chronic diseases (Chronic Fatigue Syndrom, Fibromyalgia, Gougerot) and GoodNotes already made my life so much easier, all my notes are in the same place, all the paper I need to send to my Doctor are filled and/or made on GoodNotes, I don’t lose any paper anymore, and I really don’t like the calendar apps because the week/monthly view isn’t good enough, you do not see the global of all your appointement, so I use my own digital planner on GoodNotes but I have the obligation to add my medical appointments to the Calendar App to have an Alarm warning me of the incoming date/hour, and when I have to leave my house to be on time (I have memories loss du to the chronic fatigue), or Birthday I don’t want to forget.
That would be amazing if you could add this features, it would mean I don’t have to write twice every appointement.
And well… since we’re asking, maybe add a link to Google Maps/Plans/Waze to tell you when you need to leave in order to be in time ? 🥺 (I’m pushing it, aren’t I ?😅)
(I know I’ve written my life all over the place, but I think you need to know all the possibilities of how your App help/can help people in different situations) 🙂
