This is one of the worst GUI decisions for Goodnotes developers ever made. And in the left sidebar, combining the Page View and Bookmarks View into a pull-down menu was also a very poor decision. The GUI should place common tasks (add bookmark) to the front, not hide it.
What I would really like is the option to revert to version 6, in the same way that version 5 was available to v.6 users.
I never use the audio features.

Yes, I absolutely agree. The new Toolbar and the loss of its Bookmarks icon are among the worst decisions ever made by Goodnotes developers. It benefits no one. Please allow the user to revert back to version 6.

I agree. The developers seem to think all change is good ... or at least helps keep their jobs.
The completely worst example is what they have done to the Bookmarks icon which was placed visibly in the upper right of the Toolbar, now it's removed to a pull-down menu in the Sidebar. So what before took one click now takes two (click 3-dots, click Add to Favorites). And before you could tell immediately if a page was already bookmarked by seeing the icon as red, if bookmarked. Now you have to open the Sidebar (click), choose between All Pages or Bookmarks Only (another click), then scroll to find the much smaller page (another click). And you have to keep the sidebar open, which unnecessaryily takes up ipad screen space. And their only justification for making this common function less simple and less accessible is that it's more ... "streamlined". This helps NO ONE. No one asked for this. Only the developers themselves find this beneficial ... what, to look at? They chose (poor) design over function, breaking the first rule of interface design. They should be let go.

The bookmarks icon is critical to my workflow as a professor. I never use the audio recording feature.
The bookmarks icon was removed once in v.6 but was then restored in a v.6 update. So for the life of me, I cannot understand why it would be removed again.

What took one click before - Add Bookmark - now takes two - click 3-dots, click Add to Favorites. And now you cannot see just by looking at the page if it's bookmarked or not, you have to open the Sidebar (another click), select between All Pages or Bookmarks Only (another click), then perhaps have to scroll to find the current page - which is so small that it's hard to know if the thumbnail is the current page (add ten seconds), and then keep the sidebar open which takes up a quarter of the screen on an ipad.
Who made this decision? The should be fired. They offer no explanation other than it's more "streamlined". It helps no one and hinders many.
