I’ve run into the same wall and ended up copy-pasting from external editors, which feels like using duct tape to fix a laptop. One thing that helps me for now is keeping a tiny LaTeX cheat sheet on a side page so I can drop in symbols quicker. It’s clunky, but it keeps the flow going until Goodnotes adds something smoother.

I’ve been craving richer texture options too, so I totally get the sparkly itch. What helped me for now was stacking a slightly brighter color on top of a darker one to fake a metallic shine, kind of like a budget glitter hack. Not perfect, but it gives notes a fun pop until Goodnotes adds something native. If they add blend modes, that could make shimmer effects way easier to pull off.

Kinda feels like the app forgot that shapes sometimes need a quick haircut. I’ve been getting around it by converting the shape to a regular drawing, tweaking what I need, then locking it again, but it’s clunky and slows things down. Having a simple toggle for erasing or nudging just the fill would save a ton of taps and keep the workflow from feeling like a mini obstacle course.
