Kinda feels like Goodnotes tied a shoelace to a bowling ball here. I’ve run into the same headache, and having to pretend I’m starting a made-up recording just to take notes throws off my flow. A simple quick-record toggle would smooth things out a lot and make the audio feature way less fussy. I’d love something that works more like hitting voice memos while jotting stuff down.

I’ve been tripped up by that same text box change, and it really slows down longer notes. The split boxes feel like juggling loose papers, especially if I need to shift things around later. A single flowing box with proper wrap would make editing way smoother. I’d also love a quick toggle in the toolbar so we can pick the old behavior on the fly instead of digging through settings.

Kinda feels like the current pen tools are trying to be artsy, so I get why folks miss that simple ballpoint vibe. I found tweaking pressure sensitivity helps a bit, but it still doesn’t hit that steady, no-surprises line. A proper ballpoint option would keep handwriting from looking like calligraphy practice. If the team brings it back, I hope they keep it clean and predictable so notes stay quick instead of fussy.
