[Tape] Attach Tape to Text Blocks
Make the text feature simple like it would be on a word document or google docs (bullet points, ability to highlight text) AND ensure that the tape feature follows or is "attached" to that section of the text.
Currently I have to complete my study guide, download as a PDF, then use the tape feature. If I gain more clarity and have to add/change my notes, I lose all my progress with the tape feature on goodnotes since PDF are not editable.

[Outline] Reduce the text size of the outline
I like the new feature where the outlines can be viewed in a side bar alongside the document. However I really wish I could have it that the outline title can wrap and go onto multiple lines instead of being cut off with ‘…’. Even though it would mean I have to scroll more to see all the outlines, I’d find it very useful to be able to read the full title I gave each page.

Create our book WITH TITLE on cover page
It would be nice to have the option to incorporate our title page onto the cover page if wanted by user
Also allows user to create book before creating book AND has QR code to share

Insert Map
Allow users to insert a map or location similar to Penbook. This would allow us to customize our documents and allow us a variety of customization so that we’re not limited to what we can do on this app. Adding these additional features would make Goodnotes the ultimate notetaking app!
I really love goodnotes but I’m considering getting Penbook just because of their additional features! I think Goodnotes has so much potential to becoming THE APP!

Zoom to compare text feature
There’s a way compress the text between two paragraphs (or) sections to compare the text side-by-side instead of scrolling from page to page. It would deter frustration and make this app so much more powerful.
This featured example came from LiquidText

Locking the ruler in place and choosing where the count starts from
When using the ruler zoomed in, there is a limit as to where the ruler can go. And when I zoom out, the position of the ruler changes and it's also hard to measure since the start is elsewhere.
So there should be a feature to lock the ruler in place and also change where the count of the ruler starts.

Changing the shape of the Eraser
Getting the option to change the shape of the eraser, e.g. a square, rectangle or custom shape where we are able to draw the shape ourselves.

More Elements/Templates/Stickers
Free templates for various subjects such as engineering and calendars, or just inserting graphs.
Free elements and stickers and sticky note options(maybe change colors and format)
And washi tape would be AWESOME to customize!!!
I’ve also seen implemented GIFS and internet searches straight from the app!

Auto-date Option
Almost every other note-taking app has the auto-date option. This would be a huge help!

Lasso Rotation
It’d be nice to be able to rotate; not only move around. Notability allows rotation and zooming in and out. That would be very helpful!

Adaptively matching multi-page display through windowing
When using Mac OS or iPad OS in landscape mode, the adaptability of the pages is suboptimal. As shown in the figure, even though the window has enough space to accommodate two pages, it only displays one. This becomes particularly inconvenient when reading professional documents that include diagrams and technical terms, as these often span multiple pages, forcing users to continuously flip back and forth. The current non-adaptive windowing leads to a very poor reading experience.
I hope that future updates will include more flexible adaptability, enabling the feature to read two or multiple pages simultaneously.

Collaborative Editing: Recoding: Play recording
When taking collaborative notes in lectures only the user recording can “play recording” on their notes. It would be great if it also did it to the other user (but all in one recording). So one person records it synced the lecture notes from both users into the recording.

Fix handwriting with hover enabled
Hover seems to break handwriting in Goodnotes with Apple Pencil. My handwriting looks noticeably worse with hover enabled, it's as if there are tails coming out of my handwriting even after the pencil has been lifted off the screen. Other apps seem to have overcome this problem. Please fix this as this is a dealbreaker for an otherwise solid app.

Short trial of marketplace items before buying
There are many add ons in the marketplace like planners for example that we’d have to pay for to access.
There should ideally be an option to try them out for a short period of time before buying. It’s difficult to determine which planner option would be bested based on the screenshots shown under each in the marketplace.
The last thing anyone wants is to spend €9.99 on a planner that doesn’t suit your needs.

The new "Home" button is complete S***
Sometimes it takes you one page before, sometimes it takes you to the absolute beginning of your folders. Terrible. Bring back the old one. Why did they fix something that wasn't broken?

Change Pages to the Top
The page preview thumbnails are so small you can't really make out details, and the size of the thumbnails or the sidebar can't be customized. That makes it hard enough to navigate a notebook if you don't have an outline structure in place as it is, then then changing pages when you're in a zoomed in view kicks you over to the selected page at the center of the destination page.
It gets annoying having to manually scroll up to verify the page title each time you move throughout the contents of a notebook.
