Links between two papers
Due to the existence of arxiv, many people, take me as an example, will download preprint versions of an article and after quite sometime, when the published version appeared, one should also include that into the database. Now we have one preprint with your notes or comments on it, and another published one with higher reliability, it seems necessary to pin these two(or more) together to make life easier. Or if there are better solutions, welcome to comment!

Pencil just for headings
It would be very convenient to have a pencil that just exist to write down headlines. I often use one strength of the three options just for headlines so one could expand functionality by implementing more features to this and specify one pen(strength) just to headlines. One feature suggestion might be to automatically add a page on which a headline was written to the outline. The headline itself can then be used as the outline entry's description by using the handwriting recognition software.

Need shortcut as in goodnotes 4
Hi, goodnotes developers.
I've been using goodnotes application for years and I think Goodnotes 5 should have a "Categories" shourcut as in goodnotes 4. It's more convenient than tapping "back" again and again until I reach the main documents page. I have many subfolders so that shoutcut is what goodnotes 5/6/7 or whatever should have. Hope you consider this problem. I'm certainly sure that it's not inly me who feel uncomfotable about this. Thank you for your hard working!6 votesThanks for the suggestion. We’ll see what we can do about it in the future. In the meantime, you can avoid having to tap the back button multiple times and instead tap on the “Documents” icon in the tab bar at the bottom to jump straight to the root folder level.

A way to view just the annotated pages from a textbook
Suppose I have a 400 page textbook. I made an annotation somewhere in the PDF. No idea where, but I need to view/modify it. I need a way to view only the annotated pages from my notebook.

A place to view all notes based of recently edited
In order to increase data security, I make local backups of my notes every two weeks. As of now, I backup all the notes as I do not know which one I have altered since the last backup. If there is a way to view all my notes at one place, sorted based on latest modified, with also the date of last modification, I can only backup the notes that I have altered since the last backup, hence saving me space and data.

Auto backup with custom outline intact
Right now, the auto backups to google drive strip the PDFs of their outline. But we need the outline in order to navigate large files.
The outline is one of the strengths of GoodNotes. Please allow auto backups with outline intact.

Copy / Paste with Eraser
Love the copy / paste function with the lasso. But often the lasso does not catch everything of a written line, some little fragments are not copied. So I have to go back and set the lasso again to catch all fragments. Very nerving. It would be great if you could do copy / paste with the eraser too. Meaning everything from your last erase will be automatically copied to the clipboard. Then you can tap&hold to paste with the regular pencil, just like pasting with the lasso.

Annotation Library
I often import large PDF documents containing text where I need to annotate similar concepts with an annotation. The idea is to be able to quickly access these annotations on each page I am reading.
Currently I have to cut and paste several of these annotations from sheet to sheet, then use the lasso tool to add them to the text I am reading. This would provide a very valuable research tool and method of abstracting concepts into pictures (cartoons or annotations) to help me summarize the information or concept from several sources.
The idea could be expanded to provide…

Preset colors for text boxes
Right now we have presets for pens and highlighters but not text. Even though you can select the text and recolor it with your existing presets. I also wish there was a way to import color presets and or color pick.

Verweise
Ich fände es toll, wenn man Verweise zwischen Dokumenten erstellen könnte und so mit einem Klick auf ein bestimmtes Wort direkt zum gesuchten Dokument geleitet wird.

Readwise integration of highlights.
Hi. GoodNotes is my favorite way to read PDFs. It would be great if you oils have a more sophisticated highlighting system that could export to Readwise.
Thanks!

Add a Blank Slide
When annotating imported PDFs/PPT slides, have the option to add an blank page that is the same size as the existing PDF or PPT slide size. This is so that the user can add more note-taking space without messing up the sizing of the entire GoodNotes document.

Adding pages to PDF on the side (right)
It would help a lot, if it was possible to add pages to a PDF not only above or below the actual page (and as last) but also to add a new page on the right hand side. It would improve the possibilities to take notes on context and it makes it easier to read.
Thank you very much!

Flash cards
I love the new flash card mode but it would be great if it could be extended
I have a few ideas
A shuffle mode for going through the cards randomly instead of the order I created them in
A choice of switching between answer and question to study in both directions
an option to write down the answer before checking it
a seperate stack of flash cards with only the ones you got wrong a few times

Lasso parts of an image/picture
Please add the option to select and copy parts of the inserted image using the lasso tool.
For example: if there’s an image with 12 numbers in it and you want to use each of the numbers separately, you should be able to lasso each of them and copy it to the same page, instead of having to make multiple copies of the same image and having to crop each one of them to become a single number you need.4 votes -
Memorization Pen
Pen with a solid colour, allowing hiding words (keypoints). After tapping on it, the colour becomes transparent, tap once again then the colour becomes solid. It's definitely more useful and flexible than the flashcard.
