Tips to make your suggestion visible and bring your idea to life:

  • Search existing threads. Your idea might already be under discussion. If so, feel free to add your input or vote on it. More votes = more visibility.
  • Create a new thread if it’s new. If your suggestion is unique, start a new thread. Write a short, clear headline that quickly conveys your main idea, and include context and details in the description.
  • Separate multiple ideas. If you have several suggestions, split them into individual topics so we can review (and others can vote on) each one more effectively.

  1. A tool (like in a CAD software) to find the next line intersection and trim the selected line. Example- if you have a handwritten 'X' , selected this tool, and tapped the top right section of the line going bottom left to top right, it would look like 'λ'

  2. Optional (on/off or even multiples of X degrees) angle snap for lines. Example: setting: every 15 degrees, if I drew a line and held it between 28 and 32 degrees, it would automatically snap to 30 degrees. As an engineering student who draws a lot of shapes, it would be awesome.

    1. I’d like to be able to select a bunch of different pages and change the template so I don’t have to do it to each individual page.

    2. When changing the template, the writing will stay the same size while the template size gets smaller making the contents go off the page where you can’t see what you’re selecting which seems like a defect. The contents of the page should maintain the same ratio of size in comparison to the new page.

    3. Someone posted something about being about to use the lasso tool on multiple pages so you can select a…

  3. Zoom Notes offers a handwriting/calligraphy pen. Step up the game and offer more pens. Give GoodNotes 5 an updo and catch up with Noteshelf and Zoom Notes pen options for hand written documents that need a style. I never use the boring pens GoodNotes 5 has to offer.

  4. when many tabs are opened, it becomes harder to maintain a good overview. I suggest the option of putting tabs of documents together in a group or stack, so that I can now work on other documents, but still can reopen the other tabs fast without having to close them before.
For example: I‘m working on my physics homework and my answer and exercise sheets are opened. But also, I do have to take a look from time to time into the maths and physics theory notes, but not often, and still, they are using up a lot of tab…

  6. Would be great if it can also be sorted out by colours.

That way, we can simply glance at what we've highlighted on a single page.

I am a Chinese user, and the following text is generated by machine translation.

Currently, software can circle doodles to recognize text, but with some inconvenience. It is suggested that an option be added to allow users to directly convert circled text into text boxes with standard font text to exist in the document.
It is also suggested that the circled area is not limited to doodles, but any area can be circled to select screenshots for copying and dragging to other notes or applications.

    1. Currently, there is no good solution for the input of scientific formulas and equations. It is suggested that LaTex formula input should be supported and handwritten content can be directly transformed into a beautiful formula style through OCR recognition. Recommend a company that does a really good job of identifying scientific formulas, and their service is available on the cheap, at https://mathpix.com/

    2. In the state of text box editing, the software is not compatible with apple Pen's "write casually" function, which can realize…

  14. Often I write something indented and then decide to later to move it somewhere else aligned with the left. However, now it is shorter than the other lines, and so it would be handy if when lasso handwritten text you could also change the horizontal spread. Like how changing margins on a word document will redistribute the text to fit the new margins.

I imagine this could be simple if the code can already detect and separate individual handwritten words. Otherwise, it would probably be too much work and maybe even require some ML.

  17. This idea is taken from other existing apps like Documents for iOS. When using the highlighter with text the colored line snaps to text automatically, in this way you have not to worry about going outside the line.

See the GIF to understand what I mean or try the Documents app

I would maintain the awesome straight line highlighting feature of GoodNote but I would add a new button for this new one or maybe as an option of the actual highlighter.

Thanks a lot and if you like this feature vote it!

  19. Now we can use the red bookmark feature to highlight a page or the red star button for folders. However it would make it even better if one could change colors of those bookmarks and therefore find them in different areas, like with MacOS (see attached image).
