1. Standard page number like PDF documents

   What we would like is the page number like PDF documents. The page number in Roman numerals like i, ii, iii, iv, v, vii, should be support to display on the several starting pages, so that the following pages could have right page number matched with the real. I know that you just added a new feature about page number, but I don’t think it’s very useful. This request to support PDF page number display is more useful.

2. Unselect selection tool

   I love the new option with the eraser where it snaps back to the pen or highlighter tool once you are done with it and I think it would be great to see that with the selection tool too.

3. Print selected pages from pages overview & print without background

   It would be awesome if the print feature could be expanded. Especially being able to print a selection of pages and being able to choose whether to include the background (as in the pdf export) would be super duper awesome!

5. Flashcard implementation QnA format

   Hey I tried posting this prior but I wasn’t clear enough and the thread was closed so I’m going to try again with an image of how I think would be great way to implement the flashcards.

   Essentially there would be a button, either a stand alone button or within the selection tool that will create 2 selection boxes (sequentially obviously), the first being a selection of the question and the second being the selection of the answer (I guess it would also work fine if it were a lasso style too). Please see the image if I wasn’t clear enough.

   This would really help convert notes already in the QnA format into flashcards much quicker than the current method (which is also great but involves a fair bit of creating new pages followed by copy and paste and resizing or just rewriting of the questions and answers).

   - add the function that you can record an audio while taking notes, so that you can play it afterwards and it shows what you’ve written in this moment

   - add that you can select, if the text should be a flowing text or not

7. For better goodnotes(presentation mode, detailed and neat theorem)

   Good Note is really good and I use it very well, but I have an opinion for a better note. For example, when I am studying English and try to write the meaning of an English word, I sometimes have to write the meaning very small in the English study materials because I don't have space to write the meaning in the English study materials. In case of this, it would be nice to have a function that allows you to see the meaning of the English word that I entered in advance by pressing the word. And if you press the word again, you'd better make it invisible so that you can keep the data clean. If you get this feature, your notes are neat and tidy like the first time, but you can organize them in detail and in detail. I think it would be good to use this function to show the explanation written in the dictionary if you press the picture for any picture materials except for English words. And in presentation mode, the audience cannot see additional explanations and the moderator can press picture to create a mode that allows them to see additional explanations, helping the presenter make a more complete presentation. If we create this feature, I think Good Note will be a great app that is used in presentations as well, not just an app that functions as a notebook. As a high school student who is good at using good notes, I thought about this function, and I hope that my opinion will be accepted after considering it in many ways.    굿노트는 정말 좋고 잘 사용하고 있지만 더 좋은 굿노트를 위한 한 가지 의견이 있습니다. 상황을 예로 들어서 영어공부를 하다가 모르는 영어단어에 형광펜을 긋고 뜻을 적을려고 할 때 그 영어공부자료에 뜻 적을 공간이 없어서 뜻을 진짜 작게 적어야 할 경우가 종종 있는데 이럴 때를 대비해서 그 단어를 누르면 내가 사전에 입력해놓은 영어단어 뜻이 보이게 하는 기능이 있으면 좋을 것 같습니다! 그 단어를 다시 한번 누르면 뜻이 안보이게 해서 자료는 계속 깔끔하게 유지할 수 있게하면 좋을 것 같습니다. 이런 식으로 기능이 생긴다면 노트를 처음처럼 계속 깔끔하지만 꼼꼼하고 자세하게 정리할 수 있을 것 같습니다. 이 기능을 활용해서 영어단어말고도 어떤 그림자료에 대해 추가설명도 이런 식으로 그림을 누르면 사전에 적어놓은 설명이 보이게 하면 좋을 것 같습니다! 그리고 프레젠테이션 모드에 청중은 추가 설명을 볼 수 없고 진행자는 그림자료를 누르면 추가 설명을 볼 수 있도록하는 모드를 만들어서 발표자가 보다 더 완벽한 발표를 할 수 있도록 도우면 좋을 것 같습니다. 만약에 이 기능이 만들어진다면 굿노트는 단순히 노트의 기능만 하는 앱이 아니라 발표할 때도 자주 사용되는 멋진 앱이 될 것같습니다. 굿노트를 잘 사용하고 있는 고등학생으로서 저는 이 기능을 생각해봤습니다. 여러 방면에서 고려한 후에 저의 이 의견이 받아들여졌으면 좋겠습니다. 저의 의견을 봐주셔서 감사합니다.

8. force sync

   Provide a force-sync option

   When the iCloud sync isn't working, we are stuck waiting for the app itself to recognize that the files are not in sync, a force sync option where we can manually cause the app to sync would be incredibly helpful (like the OneNote option). That way we aren't waiting for the app to recognize, which sometimes requires quitting the whole app and reopening, instead we can just tell the app when we want it to sync in addition to automatically.

10. to support for making backups the application DS File

    I'm really supporting Good Notes, but for saving my notes for school, I would like to prefer DS File as my backup application, so that I can use my Synology NAS to do a backup.

11. Document Sharing through Google Drive

    I use Google Drive to view my docs on GoodNotes through other devices, to save the my iCloud storage space for other things.

    I would appreciate an extension of the Collaborate Feature on Goodnotes to extend to Sharing a link through Google Drive as well, not just iCloud, if it is feasible.

    Thank you for the amazing app! I love having one location for all my notes on different subjects!

12. Link a PDF page to a Handwritten Note

    Imagine that you are taking notes out of a 1500 pages PDF and you don’t want to go back and forth between outlined pages. You could simply make a link to that page and paste it over one/more of your notebook/s.

    I have this issue because i work with european laws and every manual has a lot of pages. Sometimes instead of writing down an infinite law I prefer to go check it out instantly instead of searching manually or using multitasking in GoodNotes.

13. Math Calculator, Measurement Unit Conversion and Currency Conversion, within the app

    I use GoodNotes to take notes during lectures but I also do a lot of my homework in this app. I wish I could at least perform some basic math calculations without leaving the app. Right now, if I want to do any calculations for math class or some other class, I need to leave the app in order to do a Google search or I have to use my phone to do it.

    It would be helpful if I could write out the problems with the Apple Pencil and GoodNotes would be able to help me perform some basic calculations. Of course, this would only work if GoodNotes first adds a feature to recognize written math problems and convert them into text using the proper math symbols.

    I definitely would love a feature like this because I use GoodNotes for my education and this feature would really help speed things up. It would also allow me to be focused on the task rather than being distracted in the process.

    Thanks for sharing your feedback. Would it work for you to open a calculator app as a slide over app and then just swipe it in from the side when it is needed? You won’t have to leave GoodNotes for it and you can easily make some quick calculations.

14. Different Types of Rulers like those in Sketchbook Pro

    Sketchbook Pro has some of the best rulers out there and I would love for those rulers to also be implemented on GoodNotes.

15. A Button to Instantly Convert Pasted Text Into Default Settings

    When I use my Mac along with my iPad for Goodnotes, I will use my laptop to copy and paste longer text into my the notebook that I am working on. So if I copy and paste from a website, I always have to change the font and font size to what I want it to be.

    I think there should be a button in the styling area that says "Convert to Default" or maybe even a pop up button after you paste something that says "Convert to Default" or "Convert to Default Font."

    This would be very convenient!

17. Remove the background of an image by making it transparent

    I'd love to be able to make the background of diagram images transparent within GoodNotes. I like how this is action performed using an app called MagicEraser, as demonstrated in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pyty9XGv494&feature=youtu.be&t=262

    This feature would be very useful, especially when using dark paper.

    I wish to skip the step of using a different app just to make the background transparent. I constantly need to give my images a transparent background and I really want a faster way to do it. That's why I would love for GoodNotes to have features like those in the MagicEraser app.

18. Handwritten paragraph reorganizing

    It would be really cool if you combineed your handwriting recognition with your typing tool. Do stuff like intending lines of handwritten notes, or left justifying your handwritten notes after the fact. (I know you can use the lasso, but sometimes it gets tedious)

19. Toolbar redesign & customization

    On landscape mode

    • Move the toolbar elements to the side. Colors, pens, markers, undo, redo, bookmark, share... Allow the user to move all those elements to the sides (left+ right, all right, all left, classic mode). It allows more vertical space for writing and reading
    • Change some UI elements: for example, “take a pic” and “gallery” can be combined into one single ui element, leaving more space for new ui elements (such us more colours, sizes, pentypes). Also, as seen in GoodNotes recent update, “shape” tool is no longer needed and can be replaced by “hold to shape”. Could be replaced with “ruler & compass”, for example

    On vertical UI

    • Keep the toolbar on the top/bottom as it is now, but with those changes I mentioned about “shape” and “picture” tools

    other ui changes

    • Allow UI rearrange
    • Allow UI size changes: GoodNotes is used mostly with apple pencil, there is no need for those big buttons. A couple of sizes would be great (compact and large)
    • “Nipple” controls : As seen in Autodesk Sketchbook, a small nipple that allows quick access by swiping to some tasks, such as share, bookmarks, fulscreen view, etc. Highly customizable
    • more toolbar customization. Use “nipple” to hide some ui elements instead of being always visible. For example, nobody needs the share button most of the time. Hiding it on the “nipple” will allow more space, keeping buttons a swipe away while not using much valuable screen space. Some elements to hide would be share, bookmarks, search, reader mode, new page, undo, redo...

    Other needed changes (ive seen lots of these on feedback page, the toolbar changes i suggest allows more space for them)

    • new Ruler and compass tool
    • 4th size and colour
    • if “shape” tool is being removed, I highly suggest more shapes and accuracy for “hold to shape” (it already is pretty great, just some tuning)

    macOS Catalyst app

    important note: if “nipple” is implemented on Goodnotes 5, I highly recommend disabling it from the macOS app. Swiping a ui element on the desktop its not a great option. Macs have larger displays and the Goodnotes app is mainly used for typing or reading, so moving the ui elements to the sides as the iPad ladscape mode is encouraged. I wouldn’t combine ui elements on macos due to the screen size

    As always, thanks to the GoodNotes team for their incredible job on GoodNotes. I hope all these ideas help the team to improve the ui and make it more powerful for the Apple Pencil and the iPad. Keep going!
