List of things I think would be beneficial for everyone
Allow the eraser option to either remove by stroke or just the way it is
Making our own pallete (this would include a colour picker)
Allow the users to have the ability to control their pen stabiliser (similar to that of digital drawing softwe)
Making our own page templates or importing from the web
Pinning pens with different colours
Most windows styli has two buttons it would be great to allow the user to change commands between those two buttons
Zooming in and out is a bit laggy as well as writing very quickly
Costumising page size
Brush imports or customising brushes within the app
Shape recoginition for triangles circles squares etc
Voice recording
Having access to the Goodnotes sticker library
Being able to work offline
Syncing with a cloud apple, onedrive or google drive.
Adding a texting box
Adding GIFs to our notes
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. As this topic has been ongoing for several years, some of the features mentioned are already live.
Since this thread has become quite long and covers multiple ideas, it’s difficult to address each one specifically or evaluate which topics are most urgent. For now, we’ll close this thread to help keep the forum organized.
If you have multiple ideas and want them to be actionable, we recommend sharing them in separate threads: 1 feature request = 1 thread. This makes it easier for others to vote, check if an idea has already been submitted, and helps us identify which ideas are most important to you.
Once a feature goes live, we’ll update the thread and you’ll receive an email notification from the portal promptly.
We look forward to hearing your ideas!

Thank you Devs for putting together both a Windows and an Android version. I agree with the OP that hyperlink and other functionality is crucial, and with Samantha who reminds us that this app is in beta stages. I'm just really itching to get started with my new digital planner and I'm cheering you on! Please be encouraged - you have a lot of people rooting for you!

Here is a list of things I think would be beneficial in the windows version that are not currently available.
Pages/organisation:
- More templates for pages and covers
- Rearrange pages by dragging and dropping
- Folders and sub folders
- Bookmark pages
- Multiple notebooks open in two windowsLasso
- Text > change colours and fonts
- Choice to lasso and edit specific things > text, pictures, hand writingWriting tools
- Record audio with notes
- Zoom tool
- Keyboard
- Text box/ hand writing to text
- More preset colour options
- Rearrange colours
- Add extra favourite pens and coloursEraser
- Precision eraser
- Eraser specific things > highlighter, handwritingShapes/pictures
- Ruler
- Drag/drop/cut images from other pages
- Precision cropper
- Preset stickers > banners, shapes
- Shapes > options to fill or unfill, outline or no outline
- Shapes > create shapes with highlighter pen
- Scan documents to page -

1) no zoom box .
2) text to speech and speech to text not there
3) Math box should be there
4) 2 Slide needs to be opened side by side
5) Please introduce delete all option in recent deleted page. It's convenient.
Edit the recorded sound6) The symbol used is solid in color and one size. If placed on a sheet, it covers things and becomes "bulky" when items are close together. We need to select the size of it and need the ability to make it opaque.
7) a border around the symbol with it's own color. This would multiply the counting symbols exponentially. I have drawings that count 30 to 100 different items. The color span is so limited and since they are gradients of the same colors, can be confusing to separate from each other. It gets confusing as to what group they are with. If I could have green mean a base item and the border colors mean versions of that item, I could count everything and keep it organized.
8) And Finally... If I can then place a menu with the list of counted items that I can resize to place on the pdf itself, that would be the best.
9) no bookmark fetaure...syncing of notebooks are terribly bad...whatever is deleted or erased gets reverted back within few minutes after closing notebook
10) The drawing pen on the "draw" tab.
11) There should be a "plus" sign on the end to enable to add pens and
highlighters.12) Under the selection of "paper", i cant chhose any wallpaper from gallery as cover of notebook
13) There's no way to turn off pressure sensitivity of the stylus.. Printout cannot be sized together and has to be sized one by one.
14). Android audio recording nit available here
15) The button on the S Pen is not able to be used as an eraser which, when having to take quick notes, is an inconvenience.
16) There are only TWO highlighter colors available and this is not acceptable when
going through 50+ PowerPoint slides.17) Basically no font support. At best the android app follows the default font for the page, but more often than not it seems to just use Calibri everywhere.
18) No Ink to text? Limited pen selection
19) can't use any text box nor any web link
20) no options for straight line with drawing
21) No laser pointer as well as split-screen on Android device, I can directly open a half-screen for another document for comparing view. it's like what we can do that we can drag 5 notes at most for three-way split-screen or floating windows.
22) I cannot find any way to get the measurement from the perimeter or area tools. No ruler option.
23) A side pannel which contains options like 'Viewer', 'Recent' etc which you do not provide .The 'Viewer' is the most important thing that you have missed. Actually that interface was more handy than this one.
24) And the option to Restrict number of tabs is also missing. The option 'Add Tab' can instead be represented by only a single '+' sign. New Page Turn Feature:
25) A three-finger swipe feature might be added that can help turning several number of pages (say 10) at a time
Can't create a custom symbol using the drawing tool and manually counting things.26) The only erase option is "full line eraser", there is no "erase piece of line" eraser.
27) I use many documents that contain Hyperlinks to make it easier to switch between pages. Unfortunately this tool does not work yet. It would be great if it would be possible in the app soon.
28) we should be able to take a screenshot of any document we opened on the goodnotes tab by Lasso tool, so that we can use them further in our notes and dont need to take full page screenshots and cropping everytime .
29) we need to have the ability to add text through typing into our documents
would be great if there was a 'fill in' option for colouring in shapes when drawing diagrams etc.30) Scrolling was a bit laggy, as well as zooming in and out of papers. Sometimes writing can be a bit late than what my stylus is currently writing
31) ability to drag images from the Internet directly into goodnotes (without having to cut And paste.....Sometimes the app wont let me zoom around or move the page and sometimes when I'm writing the pen glitches and the writing disappears.
32) I would love to see an idropper tool where you can pick the color of your pen from a picture.
33) lag time for almost everything. It took on average 20 to 25 seconds to erase, write, or zoom and have the page focus.
ease of switching from pen to erasers to shapes was non existent
loading was horrible35) I would love to be able to add Quick notes on a seperate sheetof paper. I dislikethe fact that the only option for Android users is to add notebooks.
36) Built-in dictionary support with a feature to select a word and store it directly in a custom wordlist to improve vocabulary. You can add an option "Add to wordlist" beside "define" when selecting a word.
Or Much better if there is an option to "Add definition to wordlist" beside the "manage" button when defi -

The iOS version is so good. Is there a reason you wouldn't simply model the Windows version after it. I am a long time iPad Pro user and Goodnotes iOS user. I recently am switching to a Surface Pro for other reasons and will be sad to let go of GoodNotes. I am currently using the BETA version for windows but it is very limited in comparison. For me, usage would be the same whether I was on an iPad or a Surface. Thanks.

Just an fyi, this app isn't launched yet. It's in it's beta stages. The good notes team wants to perfect the basics before adding in more things. *I am not a member of the good notes.team*

I agree 100%!! I have personally never used good notes because I do not have any Apple products but I see many YouTube videos where people do use it and I am oh so jealous of it and it's capabilities. I was so excited to hear that an Android version was being launched but so disappointed when I downloaded it. It is absolutely nothing in comparison. Please please please make it at least comparable to the iOS version

idk which beta version you experienced, but I discovered that choosing one of the 3 pen sizes then clicking on it again reveals a slider so that you can customize each one. I do agree that more slots need to be added though, especially for quickness.

Sounds good! I hope they'll add it soon. Very important is the document scan, because if a teacher gives you a task sheet, you can't use it in the document ;(

In the Windows Web version, there is no option to

-make outlines and shape templates
- search and find handwritten text

I'm glad that it's coming to other platforms, the features are lacking in the beta but i hope it'll be like the ios version I'm full release. So far I'm using it on galaxy tab s8, the pen hover feature works for the ui but writing has lots of latency and i would love to see air action support so i can map tools to it like in samsung notes, noteshelf, clip studio paint, krita etc.

I am honestly surprised that many features from the ios was not implemented into this android beta version.
There is soo much talk all over the digital planning community of how goodnotes is soo great yet it is not much compared to androids penly or samsung notes.
Missing features in android
-file import
-hyperlink capability
-pen case capability
-color picking and opacity
-shapes with fill in availability
-image or sticker organization and import
-custom fonts for text
-Notes and settings cloud synchronizationThe list goes on and on what on earth happened? The apple version seems to have everything I listed missing according to some YouTube vids.

These are my ideas after a quick use of good notes (Lots of desired improvements but great start)
1) Use a slide as a way to choose the size of the pen/eraser, or at least add 2 more sizes to choose between
2) Delete comments
3) Use your fingers to move or resize lassoed notes
4) Use the keyboard to type notes
5) Shapes and Coordinate Axes
6) Ink to Shape and Ink to Math
7) Look up handwriting to find documents
8) Insert PDFs, documents, or images to write on
9) Record audio from class
10) Better exporting i.e to PDF or straight to email
11) Pen and Highlighter groups so you have a preset group that has certain sizes and colors
12) Change the color of already written notes using the lasso feature (should be able to do this using your finger)
13) Allow the use of tabs like the Ipad version
14) Use the half-window preset that Windows 11 offers
15) Variability of line thickness based on the pressure of a pen
16) Folders and Organization for Notebooks
17) Insert or Remove Space (like onenote)
18) Ability to view notes on the phone
19) Share, favorite, and even collaborate on notes with others (cross-platform as well)
20) Handwritten flashcard set!!!
21) Laser Pointer
22) Make the hold-down time to interact less to get to copy for example
23) Much better notebook interface
24) Settings menu
25) Make it as similar to iPad as possible but take advantage of the high power of windows and laptops -

Just to compile the ideas I have seen.
1. Shapes. Premade shapes, stIcky notes. So far I've been just making my own templates and copy and pasting, but I don't like constantly switching journals to do that.
2. Ability to recolor what we have wrote with our stylus.
3. more colors! Hex codes.
4. Maybe watercolor brushes.
5. import pictures or screenshots from websites.
6. Lines automatically straight or have a ruler tool.
7. More pen size! I love having the ability to vary my pen size.
8. Hyperlinks to other parts of my motes. for example,I link to section 2.1 on Section 3 for a reminder of what a concept means (to me this is creative loI).
9. Stamp features
10. l am unsure if this is a feature but the ability to import files from creators.I am personally excited to buy for example washi tape-like patterns to use on good notes.
11. Save colors as a set. Example, red, blue, white as a premade set.
12. Collab notes. I feel this would help students take moles in lecture. Plus, all the doodles!!
13. Personally, I would like to design page templates. for example, Half grid, half line. Or maybe blank spot here and there.
14. Tabs! I Love tabs to organize my notes.Feel free to ask for clarification or add onto this thread.
