Kinda feels like the app got a wardrobe change you didn’t ask for, so I get why it throws off your flow. I found tweaking a few settings and hiding some of the new panels made it less in my face. If you haven’t already, dropping screenshots of what slows you down might help the team spot where the friction really hits.

I’ve run into the same headache, and it feels wild that the formatting just falls apart like a dropped stack of papers. I’ve been getting by with a workaround where I duplicate a page that already has the style I want, then paste the new text into it so the layout stays put. It’s clunky, but it keeps things from turning into a mess while waiting for a proper fix.

I’ve had the same itch, and the text layer snapping back in front of drawings really throws me off my groove. The only workaround I’ve used is converting the file to an image PDF, but that kills the ability to edit text later, which is a pain. A simple toggle like text-behind-ink would make mixed editing so much smoother and save a ton of fiddling around.
