Thanks for the feedback. Would you mind sharing why GoodNotes can not be used for teaching because it is two rows of tools?

It would allow the user to control what is shown on the screen and will look cleaner to everyone. In teaching, it will also allow the user to more closely simulate a whiteboard.

In GoodNotes 5 we implemented the option to create infinite subfolders to replace the concept of “categories” in GoodNotes 4. Consider using multiple documents in a subfolders instead of adding everything to one notebook. If you want to further divide your notebook internally, you can use bookmarks or custom outlines to label your pages.

Thanks for the suggestion. For now, please try opening the same document in two windows side by side. You can drag and drop the page from thumbnail view to the side and navigate both windows independently.

We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view

I also agree that this feature would improve my PDF annotating. As another person mentioned, it would also be super helpful to be able to see where the sticky notes are through some kind of indexing or search feature where you can see all of your notes at once.
