Group tabs
I find myself opening up many notes at once, sometimes it leads to accidentally deleting some notes and I have to find them to re-open them again. If it were possible to have this function, I think it would be nice. A function similar to how google chrome on pc works, we can group tabs on chrome pc. I’m not really sure about chrome on iPad but if it were possible to use that type of technology with GoodNotes I think it would be helpful.

This is an excellent suggestion. Implementing a tab grouping system would be a huge win for optimizing the user interface. By consolidating open documents into a single, manageable tab, we could significantly reduce the current clutter of multiple individual tabs.
This would free up precious vertical space, allowing more of the actual document to be visible. This is a critical improvement for iPad Mini users where screen real estate is limited, enhancing ease of use and reducing scrolling. Conversely, on larger displays like the 13-inch iPad Pro, it would create a cleaner, more modern, and streamlined workspace without wasted "dead area" at the top of the screen.
As someone who uses both iPad sizes, this functional efficiency is exactly the kind of upgrade that makes a tangible difference in daily workflow.

It’s frustrating that after years of feedback, there’s still no tab grouping feature!!! Managing 15–20 tabs becomes chaotic, and opening multiple windows is not a practical solution. Tab grouping would significantly improve workflow and usability. Please prioritize this feature…it’s long overdue!!!

I weekly work with a fixed set op goodnotes document, a different group for each day of the week. It would make my life a lot easier if I could group tabs & save those groups for the following week

I definitely can see this option saving me time

I would love that option. I spend so much time searching for the right document because I have several different modules and lectures in university. I have like 10 documents open at all times so having the option to group them together according to each module would make life so much easier.

I'm disappointed this post was made nearly 2 years ago and that nothing seems to have been done about it. I do this exact same thing, and allowing for grouped tabs or changing the way they currently are could dramatically improve the quality of life for users on this app.
Just like I do in a window of a web browser, I group my tabs with colors and labels which allows me to keep a couple dozen tabs organized within a single window. Having to shuffle around tabs by dragging them through a fairly precise row is not fun. Grouped tabs are one idea, but another system for tabs could also be really smooth and beneficial. PLEASE update this!!

I agree with this 10000000000%! It gets so messy sometimes. Organising them would make it a breeze to navigate all the open tabs. This is especially important for students who have multiple modules and classes. They can simply open their tab group for a subject whenever they enter a new class rather than frantically open and close tabs or worse, use up the iPad's RAM by opening multiple instances of Goodnotes. Goodnotes, please add this feature! Students are desperate for this fix.

Per the attached, Chrome has nailed it and you can too! See the four university courses grouped in Chrome browser (attached image).
For each course, I have many, many corresponding notes (course outlines, lectures, readings, learning tasks, research). It sure would be nice to collapse one course's notes and open another as I transition from one class' work to another. I understand CollaNote has this in their active development pipeline.

I second this. I have many notes open and would love a feature where tabs can be grouped. In addition, it would be great to have grouped tabs either "open" or "closed", like what Google Chrome does with their grouped tabs.

Definitely a must-have when switching between different projects. Instead of having to close all tabs from one project and re-opening all from the other, a one-tap solution would be ideal. An easier solution to implement would be to have the option to close all current tabs AND another one to open all documents in one folder at once, as I usually make one folder per project.
