Suggested Feature: Integrated Calculator and Scratch Paper
Hello Goodnotes Team,
I’d love to suggest a feature that could make Goodnotes even more useful, especially for students and professionals:
- Integrated Calculator
A calculator that can be freely moved anywhere on the screen, so it’s always available right where you need it.
- It can be collapsed into a small icon and expanded again at any time, so it never gets in the way of note-taking.
- Beyond basic arithmetic, it would be very helpful if the calculator could handle functions such as x², √, fractions, and potentially even simple scientific functions (like sin, cos, log).
- This would make Goodnotes a strong companion for university classes, exams, and professional work where quick calculations are needed without switching apps.
- Scratch Paper
A movable, flexible scratch area for quick notes or side calculations.
Ideal for jotting down temporary ideas, brainstorming, or making to-do lists without cluttering the main document.
Notes could be written with both pen and keyboard.
Items could be crossed out as tasks are completed—helpful during exams, problem-solving, or project work.
- Lockable Text Boxes
A lock feature that fixes a text box in place.
The text can still be edited, but the box itself can no longer be accidentally moved.
I also created a sketch of the idea to better illustrate how this could look in practice.
Thank you for considering this suggestion—I believe these tools would make Goodnotes even more versatile and efficient for everyday use.
