I use the shape tool a lot to create "boxes" to pin things like text, images and notes to, and I noticed that whenever I handwrite or sketch within these boxes and later erase it, it also erases the "shape box" as well. This makes it so the shape can no longer be moved/ edited which defeats the purpose I'm using them in the first place.

Please add the option that shapes can be locked or at the very least not be erased easily.

Additionally I want to suggest the option to pin multiple shapes together. Right now most things "pin" automatically to the shape when moved into it, as expected. It would be nice if there was an option to also pin other smaller shaped into a bigger shape (e.g a smaller rectangle into a bigger rectangle). So everything withing the bigger rectangle (including other shapes completely inside it) can be moved together. This should only apply to shapes that are entirely surrounded by the bigger shape, to avoid two shapes clipping together if they only "touch" each other.
