Could functionality be added to scribble left to write to erase vs. using the undo at the top of the page or the 2 or 3 finger method like other apps.

Completely agree. This makes switching between good notes and other apps more painful. When I get into the other app, I end up over-undoing. When I return to good notes, I waste a few seconds wondering why undoing isn’t working.
There seems to be some additional rejection of taps when I switch from drawing to tapping, so it typically takes three or four taps for the first undo.
Also, this when drawing a figure, you might have to draw 10 or 20 strokes before knowing if you like the result. I’s much nicer to two-finger tap 20 times than 40.

This is an quite accurate description of how undo works in the paper app. It's such a joy to use. Good notes is becoming tedious in comparison to what other apps offers 😢

Please include option to choose between one tap or double tap to undo/redo. I understand using double tap is more deliberate and will result in less false undo/redo instances, but if Procreate and so many other apps haven't had a problem with accidental triggering of undo/redo, it should also be an option for GoodNotes.
I would argue that even if there was an accidental trigger, we can more easily undo/redo in a single tap to revert that change.

double-tap is very slow, please offer one-tap undo and redo as an option

The new two finger tab undo feature is awesome, but I think that it can be taken a step further with an invisible slider to undo more than 1 event. Imagine you wrote a whole bunch of stuff, or accidentally stroked your pencil across the page and made several strokes as it bounced a little to make tiny little strokes. What’s easier? double tapping ten times with two fingers? Tapping the undo button multiple times?
OR...
double tap with two fingers, and slide to the left to remove as many strokes as you see fit, and if you go too far, slide back over to the right a bit and you redo the event you did not want to remove. The perfect tablet undo feature. -

I vote for the two finger tap as the gesture for undo. This is quite common meanwhile and I keep doing the gesture in GN only to be disappointed each time as it STILL doesn't work!!!

Being a Concepts user as well as woodnotes (they serve different purposes for me) there are several gestures which greatly increase productivity for me:
- tap two fingers to undo
- tap/hold the pencil for 1 second to activate the lasso tool and quickly move something. Just like the eraser is can auto-deselect. -

My vote is two-finger double tap for undo, three-finger double tap for redo.

When using an apple pencil:
1 finger swipe backwards for "Undo"
1 finger swipe forward for "Redo"
And keeping the 2 fingers swipe to change page
I don't think implementing 3 finger swipes (as suggested by others) will be very convenient gestures to perform with a pencil in the hand...I love goodnotes! Thanks for the good job!

Sometimes I write an entire word in cursive and when I am done I realize shape recognition was on and the word becomes unreadable. I want to be able to press 'undo' and undo only the shape recognition step, recovering the word I just wrote. This is an intuitive way to make the program more useful without complicating the interface. It would also allow me to use 'undo' and 'redo' repeatedly to compare the results with and without shape recognition and decide if I want to keep them.
In addition: after I draw a triangle without shape recognition, allow me to double tap the shape recognition icon to apply shape recognition to the very last thing I scribbled. Again would make my workflow more efficient without complicating the program. Users could adapt to the new behavior easily.
Thank you for considering this idea!

2 finger tap like in concepts would be best IMO! Please add this! Would save my life in Med School. Love the app!

It is really helpful if you can add the two finger as undo.

Restore 2 finger pan. Allow 1 finger to select an area to lasso, or erase, or some function that can be customized.

Paper by 53, as has been mentioned, is a good role model here.

I agree with Simeon. I think the two finger tap to undo and the three finger tap to redo in Procreate is incredibly fast and intuitive. This would be a great feature to have in GoodNotes.
