Subject: [Feedback] Critical issue: Text Box creation blocked on existing document text
Dear Goodnotes Team,
I am writing to bring your attention to a critical issue with the Text Box tool that is heavily disrupting my daily workflow. I strongly request the development team to review this behavior and address it as soon as possible.
Currently, Goodnotes only allows a Text Box to be created when tapping on completely blank areas of a page. When I tap directly over or near existing document text, the app ignores the touch input and fails to open a Text Box at that location.
Because I need to type notes, answers, and annotations directly over or next to document text, this issue forces me to create text boxes in empty margins and manually drag them into place every single time. This is extremely inefficient and frustrating.
To resolve this issue, I strongly urge you to consider the following improvements:
- [Priority Fix] Text Box Creation: When the Text Box tool is active, tapping anywhere on the page—including directly over document text—should instantly create a Text Box at that exact spot.
- [Touch Priority] Prevent existing document text from overriding or blocking manual touch inputs when editing tools are selected.
Being able to place text boxes freely anywhere on a document is a fundamental note-taking feature. Please prioritize a fix for this in an upcoming update.
Thank you for your support and continuous hard work.
Best regards,
