Feature Suggestion: Advanced Mind Mapping in Goodnotes
I recently noticed that one of my friends uses MindNode for creating mind maps, so I asked him why he prefers it over Goodnotes. His explanation made me realise that Goodnotes is missing a very useful feature when it comes to mind mapping.
Currently, creating and organising mind maps in Goodnotes feels quite manual and time-consuming. It would be amazing to have a more structured and intuitive mind-mapping experience, similar to MindNode or XMind.
For example:
- Allow users to click on a parent node and instantly create subnodes or child nodes.
- Automatically organise and arrange nodes and subnodes in a structured hierarchy.
- Make it easy to expand, collapse, move and reorganise branches without manually adjusting every element.
- Provide an intuitive, hands-free mind-mapping experience where users can focus on their ideas rather than spending time arranging shapes and connecting lines.
My friend was able to create the same mind map in just 5 minutes using MindNode, whereas it took me around 15 minutes in Goodnotes.
I genuinely believe that introducing this feature would make Goodnotes an even more powerful tool for students. Many students currently have to pay for separate subscriptions to apps like MindNode or XMind just to get a proper mind-mapping experience.
Having this functionality built directly into Goodnotes would be a fantastic addition and could make it an all-in-one solution for note-taking, studying and organising ideas.
I would absolutely love to see this feature in a future Goodnotes update!
