Just bought Goodnotes, and created my first notebook. The VERY NEXT THING I want and NEED to do is add tabs. Even a beginner needs this option. The app loses a huge amount of functionality without this feature.
Please add it asap!

There have been topics on having divider tabs. I would like to expand on this and also request the option of sub-divider tabs. For example...
For something like a planner journal, there would be 12 main divider sections (one per month). Within each month there could be two separate dividers for weekly and daily pages plus any additional dividers for miscellaneous content relative to that month only.
For student notes, the main dividers could be the classes and the sub-dividers could be for various assignments for each class.
If a divider is a MAIN divider, it is accessible from any page in the notebook, but if it is a SUB-DIVIDER, it is only accessible when you are on a page in it’s parent section.
I would like all the dividers to appear in the page browser and to be able to move and duplicate them just as I would ordinary pages. If I move a sub-divider from one parent section to a new one, it would become a sub-divider in the new section, losing all connection to its previous location but retaining the original name. Duplicate names should be allowed.
The tabs (i.e., the clickable portion) should automatically resize and reposition themselves to best fit the allotted space. They should appear in the same order they appear in the page browser. The current section (and sub-divider) tabs should be highlighted in a way that makes it easy to tell which section I am in. Having automatic color coded bands or blocks appear on the outer edges of content pages that match the tab section(s) would also be helpful.Since there are three edges to every page (if you don’t include the bottom), I would further like to define a divider as either a top, left, or right side divider. This way I can have my months separated from other notes that are not specific to any month, like long-term project notes.
And of course tab dividers should be completely optional. Maybe they can extend outside the edges of current themes so they can be easily added or removed. Since the tabs would be a separate interface element, they should function no matter which tool you are using to make it easier to navigate without switching tools. Or this can be a preference setting that you can turn of and on in case you need to write on a tab.
A button to hide/show tabs in order to increase screen real estate would also be welcome.

I am a uni student and I have just started going paperless since the start of the new term. Goodnotes is amazing but it's quite inconvenient when I have to natvigate from one page to another (often my lecture notes has 50+ pages).
It would be amazing if Goodnotes could introduce a tab function (along the edge of each page) just like adding a physical post-it divider along the edges of the page, so users can jump from one page to the other without tabbing the thumbnail button first then look for the page s/he wants.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

Just insert covers as divider tabs and then add them to the outline view. That way you can quickly jump to the start of that section, or if you want to see a particular page within the section, use the thumbnail view where your "tab" sheet, labeled in large text, will help you quickly narrow your search.
One thing that would be nice in a native notebook divider tab feature would be to have a narrow vertical right edge to represent those divider tabs to jump to that section without having to first go to the outline view. This should be implemented with the ability to toggle the dividers off/on with a single tap.

Very cool ... I admit that since I create 1 note book per week that I just insert some random colorful cover page between the days...so tabs yeah

I have a similar idea. I want to see a “paperclip” or “binder clip.”
Example: I have a notebook of information about my garden. Some of the information I want to be able to reference next year, but I want to keep all of the 2019 pages clipped together so they behave as one page until I “unclip” them. This idea could also be implemented as a tab that could be applied after the notes were written, and then the tabs could be rearranged so the entire tab Cavan be moved to the back of the notebook. -

I agree! I’ve watched several videos where people create tabbed digital journals and planners using Keynote, and the functionality of the linked tabs is retained when imported into Good Notes, but it’s A LOT of work and you need to have it completely set up before the import — there’s no way to edit once it’s done. PLEASE make this a feature!

Tabs so that it is easier to navigate between different lecture notes. Right now it’s as though I have one huge notebook for each separate subject however I have a hard time finding where one week ends and the next week begins

This would be very useful. My notebooks are increasing quite rapidly. You should be able to add them manually or it could be an option when you create a bookmark.

An essential addition to this great app. Divider tabs that could be customisable (e.g. A-Z or custom divider tabs) would be a huge advantage for this that work with them in the paper world!

Besides having tabs, they need to
be interactive. -

I agree. This would make it possible to have a notebook with several differect sections that was easily navigable. I used to use Outline, and its looks great in that. Please can you add this feature. Thanks.

I'm surprised this isn't a feature. It seems like a no-brainer. It would be extremely useful.
