  1. On MacBooks, iMacs, Mac Pros (etc...) there's a lot more room than on an iPad.
    I'm thinking about page thumbnails, about how many pages are shown on a single screen (and how much space rests unutilized on the left and on the right of the note).
    Please make the Mac app "Mac friendlier"!

  3. I use good notes for teaching. But when I’m explaining with both of my hands, my students don’t get to see which screen area to focus on. Laser pointer is amazing feature but it needs activity from instructor.

    We can use mouse cursor as an ‘idle-state’ highlighter in presentation mode. Should be easy to implement. And if we can control the colour, size and opacity of the cursor in presentation mode, it would be awesome.

  6. Auto Backup Copy update was a great update from GoodNotes 5

    However, a major problem has show up.

    There is no option to automatically backup up PDF Copy with blank page layout.

    This would be great to improve visibility in PDF Files. It’s kind odd my backup PDF keep the lines or dots on background of my notes.

  7. I have an iOS shortcut that opens a new, untitled document with just a quick tap so that, when the office phone rings, I’m ready with something to write on. When the phone call is over, the process of saving the untitled document into an existing notebook (which is very common), involves 15 (!) steps: 1) open page view of newly created document; 2) tap “select”; 3) select pages to copy; 4) tap “copy”; 5) tap “done”; 6) tap “close”; 7) tap “save as untitled”; 8) navigate to the existing notebook; 9) open notebook; 10) open page view; 11) click…

  8. IOS version allows us to select entire PDF texts. MacOS' text tool doesn't have this feature, so we can't copy, paste or define texts.

  9. A function for setting the size on screen to be equal to the size on printout (like on Preview app in macOS). This would ensure that the size of the text/diagram on the screen can be reflected on a 1:1 scale to how it would look like when it is printed out. Such a function will give users a greater sense of context when using the app, especially if the exported note has to be printed.

    For example, in the screenshot below, the width of the PDF open on the computer is equal to the width of an A4 paper…

  10. I want to paste a url and have the rendered html as a document.
    Now I have to do it the other way: from safari I can open in GoodNotes (doesn’t work well) or Markup. Then export to goodnotes. This works well but I have to click about 12 buttons along the way, which is frustrating.

    1. Add a two-page display mode

    Two-page mode allows you to take notes more like a real book

    1. Split the screen in one program instead of two separate programs

    Sharing a toolbar is more convenient

    1. Page turning animation is not very smooth, always need to move a large range of hand to turn the page, I hope to optimize the movement, one hand slightly stroke can turn the page

    2. Draw in straight line in highlighters are easy to use, and I'd like to add a same function to the fountain pen.so, Take notes more smoothly

  12. Keyboard shortcut was introduced quite awhile now, but a major problem has show up.

    Currently situation:

    P = Pencil
    E = Eraser
    L = Lasso
    S = Shapes

    The major problem it’s the keys from each other are too far away, making impossible to use it naturally while handwriting at same time.

    So I suggest a better shortcut, just like notability (Or another way)

    Exemple:
    Cmd+1 = Pencil
    Cmd+2 = Eraser
    Cmd+3 = Lasso
    And so on.

  13. I sometimes face the problem that the app only suggests to jump to the next line in zoom window when I reach the last centimeter of the line I am currently writing on, so my idea is adding a setting which lets you choose how far on the page you have to write for the zoom window to jump to the next line.

    Also, I want to be able to control where it jumps to in the next line, not only the start.

    It would be even better if you could set a default in the app settings, but are…

  14. First of all: I‘m not a big fan of calculating my handwritten lines into „straight“ lines. I‘m using iPad and ApplePencil and it still doesn‘t work properly (as shown in the picture) - they are just not straight!

    That doesn‘t help during my Math lessons.

    I‘m not saying that the current solution should be erased - just add the function „drag/drop forms“ (please add coordinate systems for my math lessons!).

    Like OneNote did (see picture).

    Please don‘t make the same mistake and wait years to add this function. As a math teacher (and vor my pupils): THIS WOULD BE HUGE!

  15. Allow the zoom feature to have gridlines or writing lings (horizontal only) (decided by the writer) in the zoom box even if the document is blank; this will make annotations neater (as they will be following straight lines). This would improve annotations massively.

    Thank you

  16. A lot of users of Goodnotes are students in which they use this for studying and reviewing. I suggest that instead of 3 colors of highlighters being readily showed, how about increase them to 5. So that we don’t have to change it from time to time. And sorry but a lot of people uses at least 5 highlighter colors when studying

  17. When adding / changing the name of a workbook or document, I noticed that there is no auto-capitalisation, while I have that enabled in my general iOS settings.

    Is that something that can be added in the future?

  18. Pre-Recorded Hands Writing Letters Shape Recognition !

    For Students Notes with Apple Pencil

    To have a Nice uniform handwriting looking clean, swell and Exactly as you want your lettres shapes to be.

    It would be the possibility of combining handwriting recognition and personal writing Pre-Recording.

    Be able to record the personal calligraphy of each letter (lowercase and uppercase) written by yourself.

    Explanation:
    I write with my Apple pencil an "A", as I would always like to see it appear on my screen when I write by hand. Once my '' A '' saved / programmed, Notability recognizes every time I…

  19. Suppose I highlight and annotate text in a pdf. I want a summary of all my highlights (not my handwritten annotations), how can I do that. Once I can do that, and maybe the optionality for adding my handwritten annotations can be added as well, then this 'page' becomes my 'cover sheet' for the pdf. At a later date, I only need to refer to this sheet and if I need more clarity I can go to the underlying pdf which in any case is attached to the 'cover sheet'. This is a feature that is available in the 'free'…
