You should consider adding a Fountain pen like the new one on notes app on ios . It's the best pen I've used. And a pencil as well. We need smooth writing experience like notes app and procreate. I think is the bigger downside of your app. We cannot write easily.

The Apple Notes pencil brush is by far the best version I have experienced. If this was supported in GoodNotes 5, this would by far be a game changer in the digitally handwritten notetaking department.

so trueee i wanna take notes but using pen tools feels different. tried taking notes in Apple notes to compare the pen but its just the same. what makes it different is that notes app has pencil tool. i want to take notes in goodnotes tho so pls add pencil tooool

Why didn’t you add realistic pencil to GoodNotes.Tell us why! I do need it! Realistic pencil give a natural feeling like writing on paper with a real pencil.

While I don’t need a ton of brushes and realise that GN is for note taking and not art - at least a pencil would be nice. You promised us one over 6 years ago…
Some few brushes like in paper53 or bamboo paper would be nice though.

I would like an explanation as to why this appears to be so difficult for GoodNotes and why handwriting is so slick in other apps like Noteshelf. This is 2022. Honestly!

This is something that would absolutely set GoodNotes apart from its competitors in a major way. Being able to create custom pens/markers as well as tweaking existing ones (similar to Procreate) would be really effective.

I agree. Currently, I have an e-ink tablet where I do most of my notes. The last thing stopping me from converting 100% to my iPad and goodnotes is the selection of writing tools. I only get a "fake-looking pen," and that's about it.

I would love to see a realistic pencil tool. It’s the only thing that keeps me going to Apple’s notes app just because of their pencil tool

I think a pencil tool is one of the only things keeping me going to apple notes instead of GoodNotes. All the pen tools in GoodNotes are too slick. It would be nice to have an alternate option. The pencil in apple notes is the easiest to write with. It also most closely resembles the real-life note taking experience.
