    Proposal for GoodNotes: Automatic Math Tool Insertion

    Feature: Automatically insert math tools (formulas, diagrams, graphs) based on handwriting or user input.

    Key Functions:
    1. Math Expression Recognition:
    • OCR (Handwriting recognition): Automatically detects math formulas (e.g., ) and converts them into standard math notation.

  3. fix the loading issue

    why does it take like 3 minutes to load every time i open the app? and worse, you set the loading spinner to automatically be at 90%, so people thinks it's actually going to finish in a reasonable time and don't leave the app. ok actually. i'm deleting your app. this is ridiculous.

  4. Customizable Presets for Tool Combinations

    • Presets of tool combinations: Allow users to save and access frequently used combinations of tool settings directly from the toolbar.

    • Example 1: A preset for creating diagrams could include a dashed line, red color, 5pt thickness, and the ruler tool enabled.

    • Example 2: A preset for annotating text could include a yellow highlighter with 50% opacity and a black pen set to 2pt thickness.

  5. Please add 'Draw and Hold' feature to 'Tape tool'

    I really hope it will be possible to use 'Draw and Hold' feature when using 'Tape tool'.

    You know, 'Draw and Hold' means, it allows the pen tool to draw any shapes by holding stylus at the end of a stroke.

    In Goodnotes, we can already use this function when using 'pen tool' or else, except 'Tape tool'.

    When using Tape tool, we can just draw a line and cannot draw any shapes by holding stylus at the end of a stroke..

  6. Rotate with lasso tool WITHOUT changing the scale.

    This has been posted several times but no update from the devs about it. I NEED to be able to rotate without changing the size of a selection. This severely reduces the usability for me I know it can’t be difficult to add a lock on the size!

  8. Control for Default Export Recipients

    When I go to export a document from Goodnotes 6, the program (IOS) gives me several default persons to email my document to. None of them are the one I want to send the document to. How can I make my own default person(s) to send my exported document to?

    Da wir ganz viele externe Anbieter in GoodNotes integrieren, wäre es dringend nötig, diese Links mit unseren Schülern zu teilen.
    Es fehlt die Möglichkeit den Schülern ein Textfeld oder den Link über z.B. AirDrop zu schicken.
    Sehr gut wäre auch ein QR Code Leser, um in GoodNotes QR Codes direkt aus einem Bild zu öffnen.

  12. Make the pencil-tool visible on the sheets

    The Pencil-tool is great and I love writing with it! Unfortunately I can‘t see what I have written with it, when I go to side-view. Please make it visible, as I then can see what I have written and it makes it easier to find old pages.

  15. Function to freeze inserted image in place

    Hey,

    When writing on top of an inserted image whilst having zoomed in on said image, it sometimes occurs that whilst trying to move the visible area instead the whole image is moved/ the positioning of the image on the page is moved.
    This happens because the image was accidentally selected and therefore made movable.

    To counteract this it would be nice to implement a feature that allows the user to "freeze an inserted image in place", meaning it can not be selected (and therefore not moved) anymore until it is "unfrozen".

  16. Please flatten the exported images into PDFs that don't warp files

    Please go back to the original flattened PDFs, that allow work to be flattened and not warped. Now the file sizes are huge, layers do not print well, and PDF's can change greatly depending on how you view them. THIS SUCKS. I've had issues since the past update, and never had an issue in the past several years I used this app.

  17. Better Annotation

    We can write in the infinite grey space on either side of the documet. Doesn't have to show up when printing anything (only print out the page / inserted document). Or have numerous options to format it differently like OneNote when printing things out with annotations on the side.

  18. Moving viewport of document with mouse

    Please add support for third party mouses that when you are in normal mode you can click and hold the document and then move the document. It would be extremely helpful because I often work with large pages as infinity canvas and I can't move the viewport to a different location with a mouse.

  19. Option to Adjust Folder & Notebook Icon Sizes in Menu

    With the recent update, folder and notebook sizes in the menu view have been reduced, making them appear much smaller. While some users may prefer this, others might find it harder to navigate or recognize their folders and notebooks easily. It would be great to have an option to customize their sizes, allowing users to make them larger if needed for better visibility and usability. A simple size adjustment setting would ensure that everyone can personalize their menu experience to their preference.

  20. Improve functionality of Flashcards

    Hello, I’ve been a user of Goodnotes for some years by now. I love the new feature of flashcards added to Goodnotes. Even so, I have some suggestions for the improvement.
    Currently, the option of smart learning doesn’t have any curve of progress or way to review the progress made with the cards. In Anki there is the option for limiting the amount of cards reviewed in each study session.
