  1. I’d love to see an option that would allow GoodNotes to edit hand written notes using ai. Ai could detect/ view your overall handwriting style. When hand written notes are written more messy or not perfectly straight or if the letters are slightly bigger then good notes would fix it making it more neat, straight and same size. It would save the user so much more time from having to rewrite notes to make them straighter or having them be converted to text which most of the time the full sentence isn’t converted correctly so you have to edit it…

    1. textbox
    - indented bullet points need to be added
    - allow multiple default typings instead of only one

    2. allow change font i know this will mess up the spacing but we could change the line spacing ourselves

    also when more tape is used, its hard to select one individual tape and insteads it selects many tape around my selction. precision could be improved

  4. I’ve been dealing with a persistent issue for about 8 months now, and it’s becoming a dealbreaker. My iPad Air 11 gets excessively hot and the battery drains at an alarming rate whenever I’m using Goodnotes.

    This has been happening since the very first day I bought the iPad. I have already tried disabling the handwriting recognition and the dictionary/indexing features, but unfortunately, it didn't help at all.

  5. I would love to suggest a new feature for the highlighter tool. Instead of adding a fluorescent background color, it would be amazing to have a specific highlighter that simply makes the selected text (handwritten or typed) bold.

    This would be incredibly useful for emphasizing certain words or sentences cleanly, without cluttering the page with too many bright colors. It would keep notes looking professional and easy to read. Thank you for considering!

  6. Currently, when creating new Whiteboards or notebooks, the default naming convention is "Whiteboard 1, 2, 3...". For students who need to organize notes by specific identifiers—such as "Q1, Q2" for exam problems—manually renaming each file is extremely tedious and inefficient.

    I would like to suggest two improvements to the workflow:

    Batch Rename Feature: Implement a feature similar to the "Rename" tool in macOS Finder, allowing users to select multiple files and apply a consistent naming rule (replace text, add prefixes/suffixes, or use sequential numbering).

  7. It would be really nice if we could have the option for the AI generated notes from different audio clips to go into one text doc/generated note. For example, if I had notes from one module but it took 2 lectures to get through, I could add them to the same text document. All the AI generated Notes for one notebook would be in one document.   8. It would be great to have a setting that would cause the notebook to open to the last page. I use my notebooks to study and take notes on books I read, so each notebook has more then a few pages.

  9. add an option to turn off ALL generative "AI" features. it's resource-hogging bloatware, a privacy violation, and UI clutter that makes your app harder to use. i don't want your AI training on my material, i don't want it cluttering up my workspace, i don't want it slowing down my device. i don't want it anywhere.

    i will be deleting this app from all devices and strongly recommending my students and colleagues do not use it until there is an option to not have hypeware bloat ruining its functionality.

  10. The relocation of the “Undo” and “Redo” buttons from the top right corner in GoodNotes 5 to the top left corner in GoodNotes 6 has significantly impacted usability. When using the undo function, it is essential to visually track how far changes have been reverted. With the buttons now placed on the top left, my right hand not only has to move across the entire screen(!!!), but it also obstructs the view while tapping, making it difficult to see what is being undone in real time.

  11. While Goodnotes is world-class for note-taking and PDF annotation, the flashcard creation and editing interface feels outdated and clunky by comparison. The UI is unintuitive and lacks the fluid editing experience found in the rest of the app.

    Furthermore, the current 'Smart Learn' mode is not advanced enough for high-volume users. I would like to see a true Spaced Repetition System (SRS) implemented—similar to Anki’s algorithm—where cards are shown based on specific difficulty levels and memory retention.   12. Goodnotes is an amazing tool for handwriting, but its Flashcard system feels isolated. Currently, compatibility with other apps is non-existent because the app only accepts and exports its own format.
    I want to be able to share my materials with friends who use different platforms and vice versa. It would be a game-changer if Goodnotes allowed us to export/import sets in common formats (like those used by Anki). In a high-stakes environment like medical school, interoperability isn't just a 'plus'—it’s a necessity. Please stop the format lock-in and let us study collaboratively!

  13. That´s not an Idea it´s a bug still not fixed since new update. U can´t close the "Scan Document" feature if u don´t scan any foto. U have to restart the Program to even acces youre Documents

  14. In a Text Docs when I use the color highlighter I cannot select the same colors as in a handwritten note or where I insert a text box. In text docs there is a very limited number of highlighters and the color cannot be customized.

  15. Currently tables can only be created inside documents; and in documents you cannot write handwritten text.
    In the future, if tables will be available inside whiteboards and notes, would be useful to have handwritten text inside tables.
    Of course a limit could be the cell. Once you began to write in a cell, the cell or the related column and row should expand accordingly to the size of the text or, once you finish to write the handwritten text, and the text is bigger compared to the cell, it should be hidden like what happens in ms excel.

  16. Shape not snapping to grid is the only reason my friend is not switching to Goodnotes. He’s an engineer and it would be incredibly helpful. Also please allow us to customize our profile picture color at least. Right now, it’s a color that’s unlucky in my country, so I would really appreciate it.

  17. I'd like to see integrations made with Slack - the ability to assign/tag a person to a task. The ability to share a Goodnotes document with Slack which would allow Mac/Windows/Linux users to see those notes.

  18. I mainly use the new Text Doc template and type up the majority of my notes. I'd like an easy way to add handwriting to the text document.

    Also, I've noticed that it is very hard to add a phone to a Text Doc template.

  19. Create a PM/To Do Management template that has the ability to create custom fields with dropdown lists.

    For Example:

    Auto Date Created

    PM/To Do Name - Conduct Ongoing Training

    Assigned To <Multi Picklist & Drop Down Options of names we created in settings) - It would also be great to be able to assign this to people in a MS Exchange Server or Slack Server (we use both)

    Note: We need to identify training refresher topics.

    Due Date: Optional field that can integrate back to MS Exchange Calendar, Outlook 365 calendar, Thunderbird calendar, and Google.

  20. I've had to move to OneNote (which I am not fond of) because I am the only one using a Mac. I wanted to create an Agenda where I could tag people to assign them to tasks. However, I was not able to get the sharing/collaboration to work because all the other team members are using Windows. I need to be able to share from Mac to Windows and Windows to Mac while allowing live collaboration where we can all make edits and share updates.
