Infinite canvas is not searchable
The infinite canvas currently does not export as a searchable pdf file. When we export the file, it works like a picture which gets pixelated when we zoom

i hate the new update, when im trying to draw shapes or straight lines it puts them on the opposite side of the page than what im trying to do, its so frustrating and makes me not want to use the app after using it with no issues for years

Randomly mess up hand writing
When i write in a note for too long, my writing suddenly becomes wonky and is not accurate to what ikm actually writing. like a glitch. I try restarting my device several times and going out of the app and everything but it still makes it suddenly wonky. PLEASE FIX THIS I BEG U! its frustrating and it makes me write slow to fix the sudden issue of lagging handwriting

Options Bar Update (October 2025)
Every time I select anything on screen with the lasso tool the options bar pops up BELOW my selection. Once I go to click out of my selection, the trash button is in the way and deletes my writing. Why on earth would the options bar pop up below when holding down on the selected area results in ANOTHER bar popping up on top of the selection. Super annoying and frustrating when the new position of the tool bar makes me delete everything I select with the lasso tool.

Bring back the ability to draw straight lines
After the latest update, drawing a straight line using the shapes tool is often impossible: If the line I'm trying to draw is close to another line it will snap to either a curved line or a straight line in a very different position from where I drew it. This is a major regression.

Disable long press menu as a palm rejection option
When I’m writing with my apple pencil I’m constantly accidentally activating the paste, zoom, comment, link long press menu with my fingers, I never use this menu, so I think it would be helpful to be able to disable it in the palm rejection settings menu.

Let users remove all AI bloat from app
I am not going to pretend that NOBODY uses Goodnotes AI but lets be real here, you guys must read what people say online, it is NOT as popular as the updates and focus on AI would make you believe.
But just because its trendy and a fraction of people use it, the rest of us are forced to have this stuff taking up spaces and hogging resources when it provides us with no use whatsoever.

Lock the pencil toolbar in place
I would like to have the option to have the pencil bar, that opens while I am using the pen tool, always in place. So that it stays when using the lasso for example.
That way I would save a step because I rarely need the same pen/eraser I used before the lasso. Also it is really distracting when there regularly is the movement of it popping up and going away in my screen5 votes -
Image and elements select without lasso tool
With the new update, you can’t click on the image or elements tool to edit just those items. The buttons are just for adding new images into the page and that forces you to use the lasso tool to edit them. This is horrible for someone like me who uses a background image as a template and kept the image lasso off to not accidentally mess up my whole page. Please change it back! Or FINALLY give us a lock layer option so that we don’t have to select everything to get one image!!

Shape tool color/thickness should match pen color/thickness automatically
My app just updated, making the toolbar different. Now if I want to use the shape tool to make straight lines or something, I have to manually change every setting from size to color to match my pen tool every single time I change colors/sizes. This makes it very frustrating when I do color coded notes every single day that need me to switch between colors, line thickness, and free drawing vs straight lines constantly (as is visible in my attached screenshots). [AI] Hide ‘Answer is ready’ Banner
There’s a phrase ‘Answer is ready’ before name of the file,

From home page, a button to return to existing open tabs
Easy to go back to home page to find another file. But something I just want to go back to my existing open tabs. You have a home button, put a return to editing button. Right now the quickest way which is annoying is to open some random file I see on my home page to reaccess my tabs. And then I have to close that random open file.

Added image text OCR functionality
If you import a document converted into PDF into GoodNote or add an image file as a GoodNote file document as an image file, all pages will be in images. At this time, the text file was converted into an image, so even if you want to select the text, the text will not be selected. when you create a folder or study set you can only choose for a few ugly colours, introduce a colour wheel or some sort so we can make our folders any colour so they look aesthetically pleasing and match the vibe of my ipad please and thank you
