Apple Intelligence Integration in GoodNotes
Integrating Apple Intelligence alongside GoodNotes’ own AI features would enhance productivity and create a seamless workflow for users. While GoodNotes offers rewriting and correction tools, Apple Intelligence can complement these by providing faster, system-wide text improvements and edits. Users would still value and continue using the paid version, as GoodNotes’ unique AI capabilities and other premium features remain essential, making the app even more compelling overall.

Feature Suggestion – Auto-adjusting Highlighter
Hello Goodnotes Team,
First of all, thank you for the amazing app. I use it daily, and it really improves my medicine study routine.
I’d like to suggest a new feature for the highlighter tool:
When I draw a highlight over text, Goodnotes could automatically detect the height of the text (based on the difference between two points) and adjust the highlighter size to match it.
This would make the highlighting process much smoother, since I wouldn’t need to manually select the thickness each time. It could work similarly to how text selection already detects line height, but applied to…2 votes -
Bidirectional links and Knowledge Graph View
Please add bidirectional links. I use Obsidian as a Personal knowledge management (PKM) vault and love its bidirectional links and Knowledge Graph view. Being able to see how notes reference each other makes large collections of notes manageable while also allowing me to make connections otherwise impossible to see. Please add so GoodNote can be my one stop shop for note taking.

Double toolbar for pen
In the recent update they have some changes in toolbar, by choosing pen another bar will appear below the original blue toolbar, which will take more space for drop-down and leave fewer space for writing. As someone who often have pop-up video view while writing, it’s make me have to work will less space and have to often move the pop-up around a lot. Why don’t they just put the addition pen bar close-able or just put them back in the blue bar originally. 🤷🏼♂️

View-Only Link
I would like the option to share a view-only link to my notebook. As a teacher, I want to share class notes with students without giving them editing access. Currently, I have to send daily PDFs, which is inconvenient. Instead, I’d prefer to share one live link that always shows the most up-to-date version.

Option to extend pages when reaching the end
I always extend the height of my pages manually when i reach the end so everything stays on one page. That's why I propose an alternative to the "create new page" button when this happens.

TAPE FUNCTION FOR ANDROID
You recently released the "tape" option for your iOS system. This can help you memorize faster because it hides key values, so you can review them later. However, this feature isn't available for Android, the web, or Windows. I've been waiting and complaining for months, and you still haven't released it.

Direct API Integration with Notion
Direct API Integration with Notion! I use Notion for organizing my personal life, school, and work. But I love handwriting notes over typing so Goodnotes has all my planners/notes. Right now I am unable to embed Goodnotes in Notion, but this would be extremely helpful!!!! Please collab!

Update the writing on the screen feature
I want to write on the screen and use it as Google Docs or Obsidian, Notion, etc. But it doesn't have any fonts and I want to take written notes on it because handwriting everything or using text boxes is tiring.

Eraser
We have two gesture options, squeeze and double tap. I would love to be able to set squeeze to bring up/put away the eraser and double tap to switch between my two most recent tools, but ignore the eraser as an option. That way i can go back and forth between my pen a highlighter without having the erase override one. Example: highlight something, double tap to write with the pen, squeeze to erase a mistake, squeeze to return to pen, double tap to go to highlighter. The highlighter/pen sequence could be totally separate from the eraser function.

Pen settings
Make the pen settings like Tip sharpness, pressure sensitivity, tip flatness etc. tailored/customised as per anyone’s choice. (Currently it offers only 25,50,75,100%)
Please improve this and move away from “one size fits all approach”.
Also, check the stylus pen in Freenotes app, it has really good features.
So, I request the concerned goodnotes team to upgrade our user experience.2 votes -
Option to disable auto-switch from eraser to pen
Subject: Suggestion: Option to disable auto-switch from eraser to pen
Message:
Hi team,
Could you please add an option to turn off the auto-switch from eraser back to pen?
It would make the workflow more flexible. Thanks!2 votes -
Highlighting to Notes
Its like the highlights app. It would be best if what i highlighted will automatically be inserted into a file that will serve as my notes wherein i don't have to type anymore and that i can then export it as a pdf file

Goodnotes on Macbook, PDFs text selection not present for copying text or highlight :/
I have noticed that, on the GoodNotes app for MacBook, I am unable to select or copy text from PDFs, even though the same PDFs allow text selection and copying in other PDF readers. I kindly request that you add this functionality to the GoodNotes app, as it would greatly enhance usability and user experience. Thank you for considering this feature enhancement.

Flashcards
Hi GoodNotes team,
I love using your flashcard feature to study for the MCAT, but I’d really appreciate an option to mark flashcards as completed and continue reviewing where I left off.Right now, if I accidentally exit mid-review, I have to restart the entire deck, even if I’ve already gone through 50+ cards. This makes it harder to stay focused and finish large study sets.
Thank you for all the improvements you’ve made—this one would be a game changer!

Template imports
I recently purchased a large template pack (70+ templates) from the GoodNotes Marketplace and noticed that I had to manually select and import each one individually. It would be incredibly helpful if there were an option to automatically import all templates from a purchased pack in one tap.
This would save a lot of time for users, especially when dealing with large bundles, and create a smoother experience right after purchase.
Thanks for all the great work on GoodNotes!

Lasso Tool
The options for a selection with the lasso tool changed recently and it now adds an extra step when I want to duplicate or change the color of the selection. I’d prefer the way it was previously where duplicate and the color options were quickly accessible.

Setting a default size for inserted images
Request: Please add an option to set a default size for inserted images.
For example, allow users to define a fixed width (e.g., 300px) for any image inserted, instead of resizing it manually each time.2 votes -
TEXT BOX UPDATE
I’m a frequent user of GoodNotes and truly appreciate the powerful tools your app offers, especially for digital note-taking. However, I wanted to provide feedback about a frustrating issue I experience regularly when using the Apple Pencil’s Scribble feature to input text into text boxes.
Currently, when I use Scribble to convert my handwriting into typed text, the capitalization (uppercase vs. lowercase letters) often does not match what I originally wrote. This forces me to go back and manually edit each letter to correct capitalization, which disrupts my workflow and takes up unnecessary time.
It would be incredibly helpful if…

Drop down arrow for the rest of our Pen colors
have our 4 favorite pen colors then next to it have a drop-down arrow (just like the arrow for hidden tools) with the rest of our color palettes. That way we won’t have to constantly scroll back and forth to change our stroke settings and so we won’t have limited colors options / only 12 of our favorite pen colors
