Hold to straight Line (like Notability!), maybe with automated Arrows
Like it works in Notability, i prefer it alot over the "shape tool" in Good Notes 4, for stuff like Underlining , Arrows etc.
Holding a line to make it straight allows me to keep writing, without "stopping" to activate/deactivate a "Mode" everytime, it feels MUCH more fluid/consistent.
Also, the Ability of those straightened Lines to be Attacked (Beginning AND End) to other Start/End points of Lines, and even in the middle of Lines, and also to the Lines of the Paper background.
For math stuff, it makes it easy to create perfect diagrams bound to the Checkered Paper backgrouns.
Also, since Lines attach to each other, i can make perfect Boxes, and Mindmaps, much better than in GN4.
Also, in combination with straightened Lines, maybe another Option on top, that Lines automatically become Arrows (maybe as a toggle-able option)
We’re happy to announce that the update 5.6.0 that we released today adds an improved shape recognition including the option to hold at the end of a line to make a perfect shape, shape selection & editing, and curve drawing. It further improves the recognition of circles and squares and adds back the ability to draw shapes with the highlighter.

Boost! I would love this feature as it’s a habit I actually have from using procreate.

Please bring this feature on the app. It’s my only deal breaker for choosing between Notability and GoodNotes

This feature is actually useful, but I don't know why people don't vote for it. As in Notability, we don't need to select shape tool to get a straight line. I also would like to mention in Notability using highlighter to get a rectangle shape is quite easy. Learning from Notability, these two features can significantly improve the efficiency of taking note in Goodnotes.

Yes, straight line snapping just like Notability. Hold the line for a moment and its straight, so much faster and more efficient than having to switch back and forth between pen and shape, shape and pen.
