I am in the military and we use the app IOT draw maneuvers. Usually we need to overlay different types of layers to analyze and facilitate the Decision Making Process. This feature would be very helpful and it will make the process neat and simple. In an environment where time sensitive decisions can save lifes, this feature would be a perfect life saver.

This would be very useful - locking certain layers so you can write/draw over them and erase without messing up the locked layers would be great!

This would be AMAZING! Very much needed. Currently, I’m having to use other apps in my workflow. Layers would greatly improve the experience and reduce my reliance on other apps.

I purchased a notebook that already has hyperlinks, but there are permanent edits I want to do to a couple pages. Which was require the merge layer function like in procreate. I would just take the page and edit in procreate as I have the app but then I would have to add all the hyperlinks back into the page or through out the whole notebook. That is too time consuming. So I would be nice to merge layers I create down to the notebook page so it’s a permanent part of the page. Same thing would be helpful if you would to build a notebook from scratch in Goodnotes. Merge layers together or to the page itself is critical to me.

Yes please do this, very needed. Otherwise sticky notes are useless, because oYOU cannot move to see what is underneath. Why even use a sticker then

Often I find myself needing to copy/paste to change the position of an item so that it is layered properly.

Apparently, the options to “Sent to Front” and “Send to Back” have ben added, but I don’t see how to use them. This also doesn’t solve the problem fully.

We need to be able to move by a single layer as well. The additional options to “Move Forward” or “Move Back”, would completely resolve this and the number of other requests for the same thing.

Ideally, using the lasso tool to select any number of objects including handwriting, or long pressing on an image should give the additional options to edit Layer Position:
Send Back or Move Back
Send to Back or Move to Back
Send Forward or Move Forward
Send to Front or Move to Front.

Sometimes it would be nice to replace things in a certain layer (for example a layer that you can name, extra explanation), so that other things in other layers don't move with it

I know everyone is busy. But if it existed, everyone in the world would be saved.

Please make it this happen. Very annoying to edit image, but at the end image is moving.

GoodNotes has become great software for students and digital planners alike. Many people crossing over into both those categories.

We draw, we add images, stickers, text and handwriting. We can let the lasso choose ‘image only’, we can send items to the front/back, but what we can’t do is lock layers and it’s so frustrating.

Often times I have a background image that I want to stay locked while I move/edit/work on something in the middle layer and/or foreground (picture a calendar made of an image AND text). The current tools make this impossible to do and it ends up taking a really long time to do something that should take seconds.

I know people in the GN community have been asking for lockable layers for years and many are suggesting to go elsewhere. I’d love an answer as to whether this is possible and something GoodNotes would actually consider/put into place with GoodNotes 6.

Please add a "lock" features to lock something you don't want to erase or move. Another "lock" to lock the page so that it won't zoom.

My #1 frustration….when I’m trying to annotate an image and GoodNotes selects the image. If I want to move the image, I will use the lasso tool.

When annotating an image, and then clicking on the image, the writing gets brought to the "back" layer, and annotations are lost. Keep the writing on the picture as if it's already grouped and part of the image.

This is an urgently needed feature. Our notes and planners have become very useful with the addition of so many elements, photos, stickers, and text boxes. I realize we can turn items on and off in the lasso tool as we move things around, but it's just not enough. It seems like such a basic feature, I'm not sure why we don't have it already.

We need layers similar to drawing apps in Goodnotes. It doesn't have to be crazy, but 2-3 will be good for most users.
