True dark mode
When the device is on dark mode, have text and pdfs invert colors (similar to apple notes and new dark mode on notability).

A way to do it is to invert colours.
If you go to the options in settings, you can invert colours and have everything that is white changed to black. The problem is that every other colour gets changed to the one opposite on the colour-spectrum (eg: red becomes light blue). The goodnotes developers should find a way to invert the colour only inside of the app: this would be a cheap way of getting a "completely" dark mode.

The "smart" dark mode will essentially invert the colors of the actual document, not just them them of the app interface. Take a look at how CollaNote handles this on iPad, or how Outlook handles dark mode in emails. It's not a pure inversion of colors, rather, the background goes black and the colors you are using are adjusted to be more visible against a dark background. For example, if you are using a dark blue pen, on the dark-mode background it still shows as blue, but a much lighter blue. As opposed to inverting which would just make it yellow, and much less aesthetic and ergonomic

Please!
Switching the page in to dark is the *only* thing preventing me from switching back from Notability now that GoodNotes has full page typing.
It will be perfect if this full and proper dark mode is implemented.

This feature is a must and one that Notability already has! I've already considered switching to Notability just because of this feature and I'm sure other people are in the same position as mine

I love that GoodNotes has the night mode feature but while I like my overall iPad in night mode, I donāt want my notes in night mode. There is no way to override this. Iād like to be able to have GoodNotes in light mode while my iPad is in night mode. Yāall rock! Keep up the hard work.

Enables users to switch between night and light modes while the font color automatically adjusts for optimal readability. This feature is similar to the one found in Notability, where the font color changes based on the template's brightness.

It would be fantastic if good notes could implement a dark mode that inverts the colours on a page. I usually do not use dark paper as I sometimes need to print my notes, and it is very tedious to change colours. This is a much-needed feature for users who love using dark paper but can't due to certain limitations.

Can definitely relate to being so annoyed whenever I decide to change or update the template, and then I have to go back and lasso around the whole area, on every page and change the colours then.
It would be wonderful to see a pop then, asking permission to change the colour of the content according to the template. (change to black template? Change the Black pen content to white) -

Yes, it is very important. Most of my use of GoodNotes is pdf

For dark paper notebooks, it would be nice if when you press to type, the text is automatically white instead of black, that way you don't have to go up and change it manually every time. Or even just when you change text to white, the next time you make a new text box, it is automatically the last color you used, so; white.

Similar to Collanote, it'd be cool to be able to have a toggle for a smart dark mode where the paper colour would adapt to dark or light mode and the text over it would change accordingly (colours would lighten and white would become black). Many of us like printing notes, so white paper is essential but when in the dark, we prefer to reduce eye strain by using dark mode, and being able to adapt the paper colour would just ease this issue significantly.

There must be some way to invert not just for dark paper but also for the bright ink colors used. Please!

this would improve the app so much.. i know there would be a little struggle with converting colors.. but i think everyone would be much happier converting a little bit of coloured text rather than having to convert the whole page..
